Save Divine Coffee and Tea!

As most of you probably realise, there aren’t many places out there that young adults can go to hang out that aren’t ridden with drugs, violence and discrimination. Ashtabula County, Ohio is a place that, until very recently, had nowhere at all.

Even our skating rink was overrun with sex and drugs. Then one woman opened up her heart and her checkbook to these young people and started a coffee house where everyone was welcome, and everyone was safe. For a small fee, or for no charge at all if you weren’t able, you can hang out with friends, play Uno, Scrabble, or any number of other games, talk, check out the bible study (not my thing, but hey. I’m open minded, and it’s the first time I found a bible study that would listen, answer questions unbiasedly, and really cared about it’s people, not just converting them ) listen to music, you name it…

Well, coffee is cheap, and it’s a tough business to keep going. In the meantime, she’s fallen on personal hardships, going through a divorce and having other difficult family issues arise. Now the coffee house is projected to close before the 1st of the year. Again our young people are going to have nowhere to go. Again, they are going to end up wasted and on the streets. I can’t let this happen. I have to do something… But I have no idea what. I’m planning on making a large lot of jewelry and putting it up for auction on various sites, but that will take time, and time is something we don’t have much of right now.

Don’t get me wrong, I realise how over dramatic this message sounds, but this is something I really care about, and I feel quite helpless. If anyone has any ideas at all as to how I could make enough money to keep the coffee house open, please reply to this or email me personally and let me know.
