Ive been been looking through the atricles at Darksites for a few weeks now, submitted a few things, and i like this place, but there is one thing I’d like to say, it seems, a large number of people here like to come and rant about stereotypes, about cliques (sp?) just about other people in general, and i know, this is what i’m doing now, but i find it interesting that many people who have a problem with one “type” of person, havent really looked at them from any point of view than their own.
an example is an article i just read about different types of goth, someone was saying there were 3 types, and of course the only type that was right was hers, but at the same time she talkes about not liking stereotypes, and yet, she just stereotyped herself. Many people commented on what she said, telling her where she is wrong, what i think is an interesting question is, who is the right one? there is going to be at least one person that has a problem with every article written, but you know what, there probly isnt one right answer for anything, there are probably no true goths, no true anything, because everyone is different, everyone has different ideas about things, this girl says her way of being “goth” is right, but why is that? why cant those other people dress the part and not really understand it? who’s to say they don’t just like the clothes? how many of us started out that way? merely liking the idea of goth, or anything else, then got more into it, realized what it truly was, then you were accepted? we forget sometimes that before we knew anything, we new nothing, we forget that everyone is different, some people understand, some people do not, but we cant possibly know what that other person is thinking that we see walking down the hall, that person who we say isnt a true goth, tell me, is there such thing as a true anything? why can’t i just like black? but on the other hand, if we never commented on other people, some of us would never speak another word again, it’s in out nature, and so it continues, I will always have a problem with other people, because they dont think the same way as me.
