- darksites.com is no longer accepting article submissions.
- darkness.com is accepting all articles and submissions, please check there.
This doesn’t mean that your information is going to be missing, or unaccepted. Darksites has tried to become everything, and in the process became too much. Darksites will return to its original concept of offering quality free hosting, and a massive directory of dark sites.
I will be working on Darkness in order to make it both familiar, better designed and easier to use. It has a few new abilities and features that will be useful and I think you’ll like it.
Thats it for now, more will come later as the submission queue is emptied with the remaining articles and poetry.

That sucks! I looked at darkness.com, and its format is really hard to read. I’m going to miss reading articles here. Well, I suppose change is inevitable. *sigh*

Hey everyone please read the above again. I left a whole paragraph there that says I would be working on Darkness.com to make it better, easier and more familiar. That means the design too. I was hoping Josie Nutter would help out but haven’t heard from her back on it

I had noticed this quite a while back when I last tried to submit somthing…. It sucks but I’ll get over it. This was my favorite site..

Important news? Thats bad news! Whatever you do, Dont make another Dark Side Of The Net replacing The Dark Side Of The Web thing. Everyone loved it at first, And now its… Just… There… Please do it right.
What is actually going to happen, is a split.
This site has grown with too much content, that doesn’t exactly fit well together either.
Darksites.com as you know it will be split across 3 domains to start.
Darksites.com - continues to keep the Free Hosting, Free Email, and Dark Directory. This is what it began with, before I added the article submissions, forums, etc. TopSouls will probably stay here as well.
Darkness.com - will adopt the article submissions, and often updated content of a literary nature. It will have other fun things probably, like the Dark Name, Dark Profiles, Dark Diary and some surprises that I won’t mention in case it takes me longer to add.
Darkforum.com - will focus on communication with others in a message board format. I’ll add the Chat here probably.
The sites will be intertwined with links to each split appropriately. I think it will be for the best, and much easier for me to maintain this way.

Yes. I was a bit testy. But I suffer fools badly. Always have. And I AM a smartass. Always have been. I am rude, callous, and biting. (although, I was told once that it’s MUCH better to be a “Smart-Ass” than a “Dumb-Ass”)
I have no problem, looking back over half a century, in seeing the good and the bad, the right and the wrong, the holy and the evil, and calling a spade a spade. I try to be equal about my spades, and try to praise more than deprecate. I DO like intense discourse, and one of the best romances in my life was based on debate. I don’t even mind being wrong, on the off-day here and there when it has occurred, but I despise “mechanical stupidity”. A NON-thought out reaction, based on information and belief, (true or false), not personally acquired.
Did I offend? Shit, I hope so. Maybe (JUST MAYBE…) the “Whining-sacks-of-maggot-shit” will THINK before they whine, and learn to adapt to the new, FREE environment Sire provides us all, and save us 50 or 60 MB of server space!

Annachie, I think he’s referring to this period of time when we switched servers and DNS (internic, not us) has to point to the new location. So during that period of time the site was inaccessible to some, while others had no problem with it.

HeathenDJ isn’t referring to any comments in this thread. What he’s referring to happened a couple months ago. It got bad enough that Sire almost pulled Darksites altogether.
It’s amazing how people will bitch and moan about a FREE service as if these services are their divine right. Any interruptions or changes are not only bitched about but there are death threats and other assorted fun things.

Ok, there is a lot of pissing and moaning about this, and i am somewhat disapointed also. But, i also understand that this is a lot to keep up. As of right now i can’t figure out darkness and it is kind of annoying me because i can’t figure out how to submit… But, i am sure Sire can fix that as he said. So why doesn’t everybody think about what they are typing… Sire doesn’t have to tell us what is going on, he could just do it. He isn’t charging us so he doesn’t exactly HAVE to keep us updated or informed. He does this by choice. I don’t know if what people are saying is complaints or just basically saying “thats too bad”. But if they are complaints, shut up. Have respect for people. Don’t bitch about everything. if you wanna bitch, bitch to yourself.
