Sorrow’s Gaze

Spinning around in circles,

How dizzy can I get?

This sweet addiction

To the ever dark clouds,

You are flying with the wind,

I’d love to join you

In your everlasting gaze

Upon the rough sea.

I promise I won’t glance back,

I’ll defeat my curiosity

And glide along the wind.

Send me your fears,

Your thoughts, your dreams.

Give me your tears,

Your hopes, but it seems

That you’ve run out

Of tears to cry,

Your wings to fly

Are burnt and ashy.

Your hopes are gone,

Your dreams gone wrong,

You think of nothing more than

That raven in the sky.

The rough sea is red

Like the tears you once cried.

Crimson petals;

Midnight raindrops

Fall down into your garden

Of grey sorrow,

And your gaze shifts

From the sea to the sky

As your wings slowly break away…
