The only sound, waves crashing on the shore.
I look up, a bright blue sky,
Few clouds and a noon day sun.
No gulls in sight,
Nothing in flight,
Lying by the water.
Then I turn, I look to her.
She returns the gaze.
We smile. We kiss.
We walk along, feet in sand,
Hand in hand
An endless horizon,
An eternity of contentment.
Needing nothing, save each other.
Love…
Life…
Peace…
And then it ends.
I come to, alone.
The dream is over.
Alone, again, lying in the dark.
I look up, a dark grey sky,
Black clouds, and a hollow moon.
No end in sight,
Nothing is right,
Lying by the water.
