You’re gone, what will we become?

His eyes hurt. They were red from crying and he had lost focus a few hours ago. The only thing he could hold on to was her hand, her hand that was getting colder by the minute…

He grasped it even stronger, maybe trying to squeeze life into her from himself. Another tear escaped his eyes, running down his cheek like a slicing blade. He held on to her hand and whispered prayers to a god he had renounced years ago.

He would offer his soul at that instant, if only he had the chance. He looked up to the white ceiling and screamed at his newfound god. He screamed until his mind and throat hurt, but to no avail.

She was dead. She had died a few hours ago, and he knew he had to call the EMS. But he, being a medical student, knew that she was long gone into the oblivion of the beyond. He just wanted a few more private moments with her. He knew when the EMS’d come, they’d take her away, and her sight and her chilling touch would be gone, before he could savor her for the last times…

“Why?” he asked. He raised his mind’s voice in defiance against…fate.

Then He came. A beauty beyond comparaison, a blond haired man, who was the description of a medieval knight. He floated down the ceiling with grace unequaled, and landed next to his crying figure softly.

“Let go.” He said to the man. The man looked at him, asking himself if he was going mad. The other man, the knight, spread his golden feathery wings, illuminating the gloom of the room. “She has to go now. You must let her go.” he said. The man asked him who he was to take her away from him, and he stood up, with god knows what power and determination and shook his fist against the Winged One.

The sculpturesque beauty only smiled. “You know who I am.” he said softly, touching the lover’s shoulder in a friendly gesture. The poor man felt a rush of warmth through his body, and his rage was gone immediately, instead, he was filled with…relief and maybe even, peace.

“You are her coil to this world. Your love is an anchor to this existence. Trust me and let her go. Your love does not go unnoticed young one. Love never goes unnoticed.”

The poor man looked at his life’s love. He kissed her cold hand for one last time. He tried to hold onto his strength but he failed and burst into another fit of crying and he collapsed upon her dead body, embracing her for one last time. Desperation and love ran down his cheeks, on her pale body.

The Knight touched the man’s shoulder lightly. The man, at last, let go off her hand and looked at the Winged Knight. He stood up and gave way to The Knight who took hold of the dead body gently, and lifted her up from the blood stained sofa. He spread his wings, and a golden feather fell down upon the sofa. The poor lover picked it up, and said to the Knight that he loved her.

“I know. She knows. We all do.” he said, his voice melodic beyond any mortal music. He started to float up, his body becoming ethereal.

He looked down at the man, who was waving good-bye to them. He smiled, warmly ,like a mother’s smile to her child, a smile that promised life and happiness.

“And do not think of joining her yet. All will live their due time, young one, and a great destiny awaits you.”

The young man collapsed on the floor, and curled into a little ball, crying, crying the last tears that he’d ever cry in his life. He had forgotten to offer his soul, but he someow knew that it wouldn’t any good.

“Love never goes unnoticed.” echoed in his ears as he repeated his declaration of love for his gone lover now.

In my opinion, love is faceless trash that exists for no reason.

“Remember, opinion is just that.”
