Deadly Apologies I

Prelude-
Ari Catyar was seventeen years old, and she basically kept to herself. Ari had so much talent, she could easily do things no other human could. Not only could she move things with her mind, or interpret what other people were thinking, Ari could smell anything that was within two miles from where she was standing.

John and Theresa had taken Ari in, when they found her in a cradle in the mists of the darkness. When Ari was around six, John had encountered a fatal car accident. You can say that Theresa and Ari have had an odd relationship with eachother. Ari never made any human friends. Even if she tried, she could never be accepted in the mortal world.

I -
As Ari stepped out of her car, and onto the sidewalk of the school grounds. She could listen to peoples thoughts, and the thoughts she got were unpleasant. She’s a freak; Look at her, she’s way to dark, I couldn’t stand the thought of even talking to her; Doesn’t she wonder what people think of her? Ari looked up, and snickered to herself. Then she thought, Mortals, why can’t they understand, and accept, that I am different then them, I am who I am, just like they are who they are. I couldn’t care less about what people think of me. They obviously don’t seem to think that way. Ari wanted so badly to see Averick again, but she had to wait until they were both the same, she had to wait or they both would be hurt.
When Ari went to math class, something odd was going on, and Ari couldn’t seem to focus on the teacher, she seemed to be picking up a strange scent of witches blood somewhere in the school, she wanted to go out and search for where it was. Until it seemed that someone was sending messages to her mind and they told her that they would meet sometime that day, and not to come now because it was dangerous for a human with powers to be wondering the halls at this time. All of a sudden the message stopped, when the teacher came and said “Perhaps a detention with me after school would get you back into this class?” Ari snapped “I was paying attention Mr. Paisdri, or should I say Mr. I’m an assuming son of a -” her words were interupted as Mr. Paisdri said “Well, Ms. Catyar, come to my desk after class, you can finish your sentence there.” Mr. Paisdri continued on about Calculus.
The end of the period came, and Ari didn’t forget about the appointment Mr. Paisdri had made. When Ari arrived at his desk in the back corner of the room, she stated, “Before you give me a lecture, I already know what your going to say, you will wait for an apology, and then you will tell me how I should open up more to my peers, and make friends with them, instead of choosing to exclude myself from them. Then I’ll say I am going to continue with how I currently am, and then you will just ask if I could even think about what you said. Of course I’ll say yes, just so you can leave me alone and I can go and take care of some business that needs to be taken care of. Don’t tell me you weren’t going to say that either Mr. Paisdri, because trust me, I know you were.” Mr. Paisdri quietly, and dryly said “As we can both see you covered the lecture I was going to give, so therefore, at this moment, you have caught me unprepared.” “Obviously, Mr. Paisdri, Obviously.” Ari quickly walked out of the room, and had just enough time to go to her locker, and make it to seventh period if she hurried.
Ari made it to seventh period, barely making it on time she took her seat. This was Ari’s favorite class, it was poetry. She liked this class very much because she somewhat related to the teacher more then anyone else. Ms. Quirslew was the teacher of that class. She is an amazing poetry teacher, that is what a lot of people thought atleast. Another reason why she enjoyed this class was because Ari loved to write, it’s the one thing that got all her thoughts out without having to talk to herself or anyone else. Ms. Quirslew started the class off with a poem. “This is a poem, that one of my students wrote, she calls it ‘I’m Not Sorry’.” stated Ms. Quirslew. Ari was shocked, that was her poem! Ms. Quirslew promised to keep whatever she told her confidential, and any work that she might have showed her. Ari tried to yell out something, but no words came out. Ms. Quirslew recited the poem.
“I’m sorry I can’t be the person that you want of me.
I’m sorry I can’t be the pretty girl with the pretty face.
I’m sorry I can’t be the most popular or talkative one.
I’m sorry I can’t be the most postive or sympathetic.
I’m sorry I can’t be he or she.
Unfourtunately, I’m sorry that I’m me.
When I sit here and think about it…
Most of all I’m not sorry because I’m not the person you want of me, and I’m not sorry because I’m not the popular, talkative, positive, sympathetic, pretty girl, that everyone supposedly needs. The only thing is, is that, I’m still here, breathing this second, seeing what I see, being who I was intended to be. Me.”
Ari couldn’t believe Ms. Quirslew actually read it aloud! Finally, the words she wanted to scream came out, maybe a little to late, but they flowed out as smoothly as water in a river. “What are you doing!” Ari exclaimed. “How…How could you?” Ari read Ms. Quirslews mind, “NO! I won’t calm down and I’m glad you feel threatened! You deserve every last bit of terror you are feeling right this instant! You and the rest of these mortals are useless, everyone of you can die!” Ari grabbed the paper that the poem was written on, out of Ms. Quirslews hand, and stormed out of the room. Ari soon fell to the ground, to weak and tired to bother getting up. How could she? Why would she do such a thing, and disobey my demand? She told me that I could talk to her about anything, I trusted her to keep anything I ever told her a secret, what if she read or told her other classes about things I wrote or said. Even if she never revealed who I was, that is still not keeping her promise, not keeping things confidential, because there are ways for people to find out whoever she or anyone else talks about. All these thoughts were racing through Ari’s mind.
Ms. Quirslew came out into the hallway. “Leave me alone! Get away, I told you to die!” Ari exclaimed. “Please, just…” Ms. Quirslew started to say but she paused. “No! I won’t listen to what you have to say! I don’t need your lectures! Just leave me alone!” hissed Ari. Ari ran out of the school, got in her car and drove away.
“How was school Ari?” asked Theresa. “I don’t want to talk about it, so just don’t ask me anything about today. I wish today never happened.” Ari answered. “Sorry, I just wanted to…” started Theresa. “I know… you just wanted to make a conversation. As you know I’m not much of a conversationalist, so please, don’t bother me.” Ari stated.
Ari skipped every other step on the staircase, hurrying to get to her room. When she walked in, the door slammed shut. Ari sheriked, “Eek! Who’s there?” Ari was thrown to the floor.
Ari pushed up against the wall, struggling to get up. she could see an aura, It was very strong. Stronger then a humans, definately not mortal, a witches wouldn’t be so tempting to her, to have to actually be guided to. One word filled Ari’s mind, overflowing the troubles that had happened that day. The one thing Ari wouldn’t be able to kill, even with the 8 years of training she had gained. The one type of immortal that the man whom she truly loved belonged too. This was definately the aura of a vampire. She paused, and thought back to math class, and the message she recieved. She questioned aloud in the deserted hallway “Is this when I’m supposed to meet you?” Only a vampire would kill a witch, even if it was on school property.
