Jasmine and Talena; cigarette burn II

“What the fuck is your problem?” Caterin was glaring at Talena, fierce hate growing inside her. (She is one of my best friends but I can’t stand the fact that I feel like she is trying to tare Jasmine and I apart.)

“Nothing, she is just stupid acting that way. It’s just a fucking cigarette.”

“Don’t you talk that way about Jasmine or I’ll kick your ass Talena.” Katie snatched the cigarette from Talena and smashed it on a rock with her shoe.

Talena shifted backwards and shrugged. “Okay, okay. I get it, you love your girlfriend.”

“Fine, lets just go inside.” Caterin shrugged Talena off and walked toward the door.

Jasmine sitting on the swings watched Caterin and Talena step into the house. She dropped her head and looked at the shinning pebbles. The moon outside was bright and something hung in the air. It was different, and it was chilly. Like a fog it hung thick, and sunk into her skin. It wasn’t the crisp cool air of the night before, but a painful knawing cold.

She stood up from the swing and tredded cautiously back to Talena’s room through the glass doors of the basement. Jasmine didn’t want to be there anymore. There was a loss inside her that she didn’t understand and all she wanted was to be in Caterin’s arms. But did Caterin want her there anymore. (Saying I wouldn’t kiss her because she smoked was rediculous, though, she knew I was kidding…right?)

The room with the midnight blue walls and queen size black bed was empty when Jasmine opened the door. She was freezing so she crawled under the dark covers and huddled in the furthest corner from the door.

Suddenly she felt very angry. No one was there, and she felt alone. (Fine, then I am alone. They can have their own friendship, and even their own relationship if they want.)

The goth and the raver walked into Talena’s room. Caterin knew instantly not to even go within three feet of Jasmine. Talena, who for some reason had a fetish that evening with pissing this girl off walked right over and touched Jasmine’s shoulder.

“What’s wrong?” She asked smiling a wicked smile.

“Get the fuck away from me Talena.” Jasmine whispered dangerously. Talena pulled back in mock fright.

“Com’on Jaz, you can tell us.” She looked to Caterin, who turned her head away from the disgusting sight Talena was making. Talena leaned in and started to pet Jasmine’s hair. “It’s okay, we’re here for you.”

“I said get the fuck away from me!” Jasmine screamed and kicked Talena away with her feet, knocking to the edge of the bed, and Talena being the ungraceful one fell off. She glared up at Jasmine who raised an eyebrow and crossed her arms.

Caterin was standing closer to the other end of the room, struggling to keep a straight face. Jasmine didn’t even try as she burst into laughter. It was extremely amusing to see gothic, usually intimidating, Talena sitting on the floor making a face between a frown and a pout.

The friendship was soon astablished once again between the three as Jasmine climbed down and picked Talena up into her arms. “I’m sorry, I’m just in a shity mood.” Caterin was still hiding her giggles when Talena turned to her. She gave Talena a smile and they all ran up the stairs to grab chips and salsa.

“This is all you guys eat when you come to my house!” Talena wailed as Caterin and Jasmine dug in.

“Oh shut up Talena.” Caterin said with wry humor.

“See and copy. Imitate us and stuff your face. Don’t make us feel bad by sitting there and being all snobby and with a bird appitiet.” Talena shrugged and snatched a couple chips.

When the girls finally fell into bed they all decided to wear their bras…I donno, girl-ish minds perhaps. Caterin and Jasmine curled up on one side together. Jasmine clinging a little to Caterin, but none the less content. Talena on the other side, but still close tucked under the same smoke gray comforter.

In the morning they all woke up in fright as Talena’s mother rushed into the room. Of course they had no intention of letting Talena’s mother see them in their bras so they hid under the covers, heads sticking out.

“What the hell is wrong with you?! Talena get up, Caterin and Jasmine’s ride is here.” The girls all nodded and waited for her to leave to get out of bed; Talena making a sigh of relief. It seemed like old times almost as the girls dressed and got ready to leave. Only friendship present, and a little bit of sarcasm.

Unknown to the girls the three of them were slowly slipping. Each in their own direction. As Caterin packed she didn’t look at Jasmine. Jasmine noticed and kept her eyes on the floor as they walked out of the house and trailed as far behind Caterin as was possible in the fact that they were riding in the same car. Talena nodded at them as they left and didn’t even follow them up the stairs and through the kitchen, barely noticing the questioning looks in the other girls eyes.
