I notice how people spend their lives searching for the answer to the mystery of life. Have they not just destroyed the so called “mystery” by wasting it on a search for something that was never there.
Now for the 6 o’clock news. Our main story tonight: There is no mystery behind life. It is a chemical reaction. We are nothing more than particles of energy. When life ends, we don’t go anywhere.
We aren’t reincarnated. The energy has just changed form. Emotions are nothing magical. Emotion satnds for Energy in Motion. All we are feeling is the change of the energy inside us from one form to another.
It is not necessary for you to know this. It is not necessary for you to know anything. It is not necessary for you to do anything. We all end up the same. Anything we do in our lives will just be making it easier or harder for the next person to make it easier or harder for the next person to make it easier or harder…
People wonder if life will ever end. Think of it this way, if life doesn’t end, then time is infinite. If time is infinite, then everyhing that can happen, will happen. This includes the end of life.
If it is unnecessary for you to read this, why are you still reading. If life is unnessecary, why are you still alive.
Remember, everything we feel, emotions, pain, happiness. It’s all just energy in motion.
So go about your lives, enjoy your fashion, be an audience to your media. Don’t let cynical wankers like me fuck it up for you.
ENJOY YOUR FUCKING LIFE. NOBODY ELSE WILL
What are you blabbing about? We are so much more than ENERGY! Yes, SOME of our thoughts and feelings are made up of energy but there is more. Life is about how we thin and how we wnat to feel. Not about particles in our body.
I agree with wiccanwitch in some ways. Yes it is energy like you say but its energy that we can use in our on ways. Like how we want to feel happy, sad, angry, whatever it is really only up to us we dont have to be mad or sad unless we want to be. But I did enjoy your statement because it is really only energy like you said
Well put, for the most part.
You have to realize, though, that most people have to invent these other concepts (spirituality, etc) as a way of understanding this on a higher level and you must be careful to let them believe what they need to. To you and I it may seem absurd but trying to correct them works in the best interests of nobody. It would be the making it difficult for the next person that speak of.
Still, I do agree with the general outlook. I just consider people as complex machines whose entire concept of logic is based on a series of chemical reactions.
It is often considered a cold and cynical to think of it in such a way but, to me, at least, it is also correct. Just be sure never to tell others that they are wrong because it doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things,
…Nights
Interesting post.
I don’t really have anything to say except that what you wrote reminded me of something I read once.
Humans’ something-or-others (life, or something) are “made up of 6 protons, 6 neutrons, and 6 electrons. Put those together and you get 666. People are their own Satan.”
Even if it is just coincidence, it is interesting. Whether you believe in Satan/god or not, we really do end up being/forming our own hell in some way.
Sure whatever. But what about owr spirits, they are somewhat made up of energy. But only energy from Mother Earth and everything else that is around us. I guess that is why I am Wiccan.
u know i totally agree with u. but Illuminati does have a point. who knows… who cares? just have fun.
-FANGSthatKILL-
In the scheme of things it really doesn’t matter to anyone else, just to the self about the meaning of life. We all find our own way of going about it, we all find our own levels of ‘understanding’. Much as I hate the idea of hierachies, they exist even in the spiritual through my own experiences. . . even though I’d like all to be equal. It’s just the way it is.
We are energy or energetic in quality, not just in our emotions but in other things that we do in life. In turn, everything else is energetic as well. It’s just a matter of being able to see it.
I won’t bother to go into my beliefs, as they are mine alone.
But I found this post highly amusing, good work freeck… a question tho: you ask why we are still reading… why were you still writing?
i wondered that.
Great minds think alike hey?
*smiling* how could cynical people like you fuck it up for me? Firstly, I’m a bit of a cynic myself, so if anyone is going to screw up my life I’ll be first in the queue, and secondly because I believe that what you’ve written is true. A very interesting, well described truth, that IS all we are.
And then we wrap ourselves up in different ways.
Why was I still reading? Because I was enjoying the way it developed, energy in motion can be powerful like that…
I agree with everyone but WiccanWitch i suppose that is why i am a wiccan also. plus somehow i think my grandfather on my fathers side had wiccan blood or something i am not sure if my dad was joking because i am wiccan or if he was being serious. He sounded serious. By the way that was the first time i had talked to him in 1…2….3…..4….5
5years and before that i had never met him. I only knew who he was. I hate him and his italian ass. But I like my half sister and both my half brothers
simplifying:
U won’t go anywhere. U can’t see more than your particles.
shame of u.
(note: I expect this to start a fight, so I will be as careful as possible with my words. However I still think this will start a fight, so don’t all jump on me at once. Give me the opportunity to defend myself at least a little bit. Thanks. Anyway, time to set this bomb off.)
In regaurds to “freeck”‘s post, yes most of that rings VERY true. However, it seems contradictary to call everything that is human energy, and then say that we don’t go anywhere when we die. Surely the energy must go SOMEWHERE (as energy can neither be created or destroyed). Now you can say “yeah sure, it goes into the ground”, but that does not explain the original spark that has created life. Where did that go? More importantly, where did it come from? Now, you’ve probably realized that since energay cannot be created or destroyed, this means (in theory) that it didn’t come from anywhere… It was there to begin with. To assume that the people who created all those “stupid religeons” hadn’t thought of this already is folly as far as I’m concerned. If the energy just “was” then there IS something that lives outside the rules of entropy (Newton’s second law of thermo-dynamics), and thus is immortal. People gave this immortal “something” (energy) a name. They called it God. As we are all composed of this substance (energy/God) then we were created by it. And as it literally IS all of us, and everything, then it is truly omniscient, and omnipotent. Only “God” can truly know what it is to be a particle of helium, a blade of grass, a stone, and a drop of blood on a razor all at the same time. This brings us back full circle to the theory of energy. Where does it go if it cannot be destroyed? Well, it only seems logical to say that it goes back into “God” does it not? And thus the energy is recycled into new life. If this isn’t “reincarnation”, I don’t know what is.
But it is all too arrogantly human to believe that there is a deity watching our every move, making sure we live “the good life”. To believe there is a heaven or “afterlife” is so completely egotistical and typical. And please, “Mother Earth?” As if there aren’t other planets with life on them out there (yes, mars has life on it, read a book). And if you think that you’re better than life on Mars, it is only because you are human, and have an ego. The idea of “sinning”? How immensly more powerful are you than an ant? Do you give a DAMN what it does on a daily basis? You could wipe thousands of them off the planet with one well placed boot, but you wouldn’t know their names would you? If “God” didn’t want us to do certain things, then why would he give us the ability? It seems sadistic. There is NO SUCH THING AS FREE WILL! EVERYTHING is pre determined. Don’t believe me? Ask someone about chaos theory. We’re just God’s dominoe play things. In my book, any kind of religeon that can be found in a book is foolhardy. Just because you’re a Satanist instead of a Christian doesn’t make you any less of a conformist. You still found out about your “religeon” from someone else, and you adopted it as your own as if YOU had invented it (also note, Satan is a construct of the bible, therefore making Satanism just a weak spin-off of Christianity or Judaism [yes, even Anton Zandar Le Vey’s version of Satanism])! BAH! Anyway, that’s basically the end of my bitch-fest. I hope I haven’t offended too many people and thus alienated myself further, but I tire greatly of religeon. If you really want answers, find them for yourself, don’t ask someone else.
Mannequin
(PS: In retrospect… I don’t seem to have been careful with my words at all. *shrug* Oh well.)
(PPS: my whole rant wouldn’t fit in one post so I needed 2… 🙁 sorry)
Valid points there, Mannequin.
It is but a paradox that life is predermined, one we could never prove to ourselves or to anyone else. Is it free-will or determined in our lives that we live that we go down one path only? All paths are predetermined, but could we not choose which one of those that we want to go down to reach that destination that we want? But we would never know what happens if we had chosen the other path and that being on this path leaves us forever locked out of that one.
Another paradox: we are predetermined to choose the path we are to follow.
Of course I agree with you “Voltarrens”. I did not intend to imply that because our entire lives and choices are predetermined that we should allow ourselves to waste away. I believe whole heartedly that our entire universe is built upon and around paradox. A paradoxical house of Lincoln Logs if you will. There is definately a difference between determinism and nihilism. Thank you for clearing that up.
Mannequin
Very well put Mannequin i agree with you on evey level.Good to know that more people think the way that i do. Better not let god read this or he might shoot me with a bolt of lightning ………Hahahahah.
if other people used my logic, too bad. I’m too lazy to read everything here. that said:
flaw in your logic: you stated that if life doesn’t end, everything that can happen will happen, even life ending. read that again. you stated that everything that can happen will happen, not including things that can’t happen. the opening to the reasoning was an “if life doesn’t end” after all.
that criticism aside, I agree with you. the people that insist spirits are energy are either cleverly contorting the traditional idea of spirit (to them, my applause) or rigid-minded and most likely idiots.
to the idea that everything together is god, thus omniscient, omnipotent, etc, certain things are forgotten. if natural laws are assumed to hold any sway, even everything is not omnipotent. furthermore, there is no reason to call the universe sentient, and thus omniscience is impossible. it can’t know anything unless you can be cognizant of at least something. don’t bother saying the system is cognizant because some of the parts are cognizant and use humans as an example. you know the logic doesn’t work and I’m not coming back to refute it.
what the hell else was there… oh yeah, no energy necessarily exists. they say that in the beggining there was nothing, then matter and antimatter but more matter because of a quirk in the math right? modern theories say that quirk is explained by the acceleration of the universe, the missing anti-matter being anti-energy in the form of anti-gravity, thus why the universe isn’t collapsing under the gravity of normal matter. in the end, the whole system is supposed to be a net energy level of 0.
for those who noticed, yes, I just posted that same big bang update somewhere else
and yes, why be alive, but also, why not? even for those who see things like you, life is lived not for a motivation to live, but for a lack of motivation to change the status quo.
to those other people, asking why he wrote that is like asking why a tree falls in the woods. it just happens. social or physical sciences might give a logical explanation, future sciences might explain why those sciences hold true, but in the end, it just happens.
yep, I’ve been rambling. don’t bother asking me any questions. tah
I worte something very long in rebutle (3222 words actually), but it was all deleted by this wretched computer when I pressed submit… The reader’s digest version is:
1:I do not agree with “Cruentus66”
2:He has in no way convinced me that I am incorrect.
3:There is no empirical data listed to support his claims.
4:I can offer rational (and some empirical) data of my own to support my statements.
5:It strikes me as very weak indeed to post something that’s bound to cause controversy, and not remain to defend it’s validity.
6:If there truly were any substance to these conclusions, I’d at least like to know how he arrived at them.
Anyway, I’m in no way insulting “Cruentus66″‘s intelligence. He strikes me as very much so, but the argument was unfounded as far as I can tell from it’s content.
Mannequin
How come you don’t agree with me Serenity. I am sorry that you don’t though. Now a days it is hard to get people to see your point of view. I believe that Nature has such a big effect on us that we don’t even realize it. Energy comes from the earth, and the moon and the stars. Just about anything that is natural. (if you can say what is natural since mechanics have taken over this earth)

Erm… interesting… the three posts was a bit odd though I doubt that was your intent… Anyway, energy does NOT come from the earth or the moon or the stars… if anything, the earth moon and stars comes from energy (and will eventually entropy back into energy). And hate to break it to ya, but the earth will get rid of us long before we destroy it. Take global warming for instance, it’s earth’s friendly way of reminding us that it can kick our ass any time it wants. So don’t worry about the earth, it can take care of itself. It’s people that need a helping hand.
Mannequin
This is a pointless argument.
You are going around in circles.
Serenity-There is no such thing as Wiccan blood, thats like saying you have christian blood or lesbian blood in you.
WiccanWitch-energy doesnt come from just about everything that is natural, it comes from everything that is natural, this includes manufactured things, as they too come from natural things.
Why are you guys saying that? I can believe what I want. I think that energy comes from REAL natural thinks like crystals and herbs. You can think what you want to and I will think what I want to. And somebody needs to take care of the Earth. What, you think pollting is ok. Sorry but when people litter it is ruining all that Mother Nature has given us. We can’t take advantage of that. We need to respect. We give nothing to her but she gives to us and just wants us to keep it clean and helthy.
Kaleo
Well goodness Freeck, look at the attention you have received *Claps*. I am so amazed at all of the different opinions about all this energy stuff. I must say, I am not into science at all~~>I am failing my chem class right now(lol). I personally, and I repeat personally, don’t think religion and science mix to well at all. Mostly because with religion, you must have a great amount of Faith in what you believe. Also science doesn’t have all the miracles, and the beautiful ending. In science, a lot of people are realist. They only want to believe in what they see and feel, things that can be proven. Not saying that everyone is this way of course, because I am very open to all things(lol).
Wiccan witch~~>Kaleo, what’s up! You have a really good point about believing what you want. Everyone has there own opinions and beliefs. Most people are pretty set about them too, so there really is no point in trying to persuade anyone to change there mind, unless you just like to argue. Religion, politics, science, abortion, war…..it goes on. So many controversies that will never be solved. We are a stubborn world, that is just how it goes 😉
As for the whole energy thingy, I kinda got off track….sorry;) There really is no point in me saying what I think about where energy is being sucked into(or what other scientific explanations were going on)~~>because it is not like my faith for my opinion will change anyone’s mind.
Fine, I’ll tell you what… I’m just gonna believe what I want to believe, and you can believe what’s wrong 😛
Mannequin
(PS: Sophistry is one of the finer things in life.)
Ok, I am cool with that. What ever floats your boat:)
whattya know I came back. it’s 3am here and I’m killin time cause if I go to sleep I won’t wake up on time now. I hate it when that happens
I’m disappointed to note that the rebuttal to my arguments lacked substance. it basically said, “you’re wrong, I want to see your evidence.” to which part of my argument? I was rambling, after all. as far as the net energy =ing 0, big bang theories have always been like that. read one. even an old one will do. also read up on the shape of the universe – we’ve currently decided again that the universe is not spherical, so a sequence of collapse bang collapse bang is not considered possible.
beyond that, I most certainly recognize that the current theories may be wrong. the theories that were current 50 years ago were wrong, after all. so maybe the universe is a sphere and energy has always existed. I’m just saying that modern science does not hold this to be true. anyway, go ahead and check my work. go look through old issues of discover for all I care, talk to a few physics professors (not mechanical physics, not optical, etc. try to find a good old theoretical physicist if you can). hell, just type in “big bang” in a search engine, though you’ll have to wade through a lot of crap to find an actually academic page.
if your arguments were with my other arguments, I say read them again. they weren’t about evidence, they were based on logic. so much of life isn’t but should be.
oh yeah… and empirical evidence… empirical means you have to see it for yourself, so, you want to go back in time and watch the universe again? with special equiptment to understand the flow and forces of energy involved perhaps? fuck empirical evidence, that went out when inductive and deductive reasoning were invented
Science has become it’s own religion even individuality has been milked dry. we all have opinions weather there shared by a religion or supported by sciance. life just is I don’t know where it came from or where I go when I die if anyware I’m not going to change my life anyway. No god will tell me how to live and no man either. I follow myself I’m a conformist I conform to life not the other way around. After all if I was born 100 years ago I’d be a diffrent person with diffrent thoughts.
As to Fate V.S. Free Will I feel like I can choose but there is no proof that my thoughts are illutions and chance isn’t preprogramed by an outside force. weather it’s god energy or fate it’s self I know I’m a slave to my instints and how I feel. I hate myself and I wouldn’t change a thing.
Mannequin Keep posting I like your thoughts
Wiccan Witch Keep up Your faith Nature is so much more important then what we think
Just to push in your circle of arguments, why should anyone give a flying fuck if the universe was created or already there, or if our thoughts and destiny is pre-determined or in our control. To be honest, it feels like I can change what I’m going to do at any point in time, and that no fate concept holds me down, but that is because I’m just zeros and ones in infinity that makes me think I’m me, but we’re all realy everthing, yet nothing bla bla bla. Who cares?, not me, if I die and never feel a single thing again, then I have absolutley NOTHING to worry about. The meaning of life is:
*drum roll*
REPRODUCE! MULTIPLY!
Because in the backround, everything else is dividing and following your exact atomic movements, but opposite, just to keep the universe as a big fat fucking ZERO.
Cruentus66, freeck and manniquin, no offence, I fully respect your knowledge, intelligence, and insite. Further more, I know that you guys are so close to exactly correct it’s scary, but I came up with some strange theories while stoned, and if ultimatly, nothing matters, then why not play with words, ideas and theories, I’m not right, but if you can shake up the worlds monotonous cycle a bit, why not. I’ve thouroughly enjoyed reading this entire post and its long string of comments. Peace to you all.
oh yeah, and to Wiccanwitch, sure the earths important, but the earth didn’t create us, seriously thats really lame if you ask me.
I’ll tell you a story, when I was little, I liked to pretend I was a soldier, I loved glove guns, spud-guns, and I loved going paintballing, I loved to make believe that the whole world revolved around war. That all the problems of the world would be solved if we kept our own numbers down, and destyroyed bad regime’s, overthow governments including our own, anarchy, to civilization, to anarchy, to civilization. One big cycle that moved and worked and made everything all turn out in the end.
The truth is, I was playing a game, it was fun, but it was out of touch with realiting. Over-all, it was lame, pathetic and childish. I liked to play with bullets, tents, two way radios, booby traps and army net, like you like to play with herbs, gemstones, feathers, wiccan bibles and spells. It’s a fun game, with a happy ending, and an unfinished theory with much to answer for. But what your living in, is what I was living in as a young child, A FUN YET IMMATURE GAME.
But sure think what you want, just keep having fun, nothing fucking matters in eternity. Ü
Hey now thicktears, that was kinda harsh don’t you think. That is very unfair, to say that just because she is wiccan, she is just playing a game. Noone should be put down for what they believe in. I mean maybe you don’t agree with it, but that is no reason to say it’s immature. I mean that is like telling someone they are wrong for believing in God, or science, or love, etc… See this world is so defensive, and if we were just a little open-minded, then maybe slavery, and Hitler wouldn’t have happened. Maybe this world would be so much easier to live in, if people were not picked on or critized for their beliefs. Well anyway, I am just trying to be fair. Please don’t get upset or anything 😉
sorry, I was tired, no excuse
Thanks, for being so understanding 😉
Hey thicktears, How do you know that the Earth didn’t creat us?? You know, this whole topic is like that System of A Down song Scienc. You know how it says science has fail our world, science has failed our Mother Earth. Spirit moves through all things. Seriously….
Thanx for sticking up for me (Quintessance) while I was dealing with my boyfriend who just shot off his whole finger yesterday. He has to get reconstructive surgery. Kinda funny, thats what he gets for loveing guns so much. Well thicktears. I thing that all of our lives is just a game. First you have yo play through school right. You have to be good and have stratagies and shit like that. So I can kinda see what you are saying. But Wicca and me being a vampire and all, I think that, that isn’t a game. Cause when you play around to much it wont be so much fun. Arn’t game supposed to be fun. I think I am being very hypocritical though. Correct be if I am.
Kaleo
Wait I just read that and I am being a big freaking hypocrit! SOME of our lives is just a game. Mine in parts is. But wicca and vampirism isn’t for me. It’s freaking fun but sometime its tough to believe what I believe.
I hope thats better
Kaleo
We all have our own realities about the environment around us and how we react to it all and cope with living in it, and more importantly how we are able to percieve it from our persective. Our personal reality may not be some one elses, it never fits exactly like nice little jigsaw puzzel pieces. Sometimes we can let others into our reality and we can relate to them, sometimes we can never let the other person in because of total difference or opposite point of view or too much toward science or too far toward the metaphysical.
Yet we are all entitled to our own reality as we see it and have to live with it, fun or not, whether we want to change it or not, play with it or not. We learn through our experinces of what is and are presented with. Sometimes we don’t appear to learn and keep repeating…maybe we reach a barrier then that we cannot cross in this life time. We don’t have enough energy at the time to cross it. And never can we prove to another what our reality is, we are ourself and they can’t be us.
Just some thoughts.
*sigh* An open universe does not in any way entail the destruction of energy. Even if all that’s left is smaller than a mist of leptons, it is still based on energy. Perhaps “net energy” is a concept I’m not familiar with, however you managed to use it in a manner that seemed to go against my statement that energy can neither be created or destroyed (Albert Einstein E=mc2). Another thing. I NEVER said that the universe was cyclic or spherical (in fact, from what I read in TIME magazine a couple years ago, the currently most popular theory is that the universe is saddle, or donut shaped). I only implied that it is infinite, and thus has no beginning or end (I do not mean beginning or end in the sense of distance, only in time). The paradox of an infinite linear sequence is a difficult concept I must admit, as it is not something that can be commonly referred to in the “natural world”, but surely it is something that you can concieve of. Also, just for clarification you are indeed correct about the definition of “empirical”. However, you’ve overlooked the fact that it has multiple definitions.
Random House Webster’s Dictionary publication 1999
empirical- adj. 1.derived from experience or experiment. 2.depending upon experience or observation alone without using scientific theory or method esp. in medicine (I assume this is the definition you were using) 3.verifiable by experience or experiment (this is the definition I was using, hence the referrences I use in my conjectures [ie. Albert Einstein])
I prefer empiricism over rationalism because at least things can be proven with empiricism. Anything that discounts evidence cannot be called logical in my account. for instance, statistically speaking violent crime increases at a consistant rate with ice cream sales (this is true, I’m not making this up). Now, this is an interesting correlation to say the least, but is by no means a causation. Using ill founded “logic” (I call it rationale) one could conclude that ice cream causes violence… However, if you were to look at all the evidence, you would realize that people buy more ice cream, and are more violent when it gets hot out. Did you know that 90% of all murders occurs within 24hours of bread use? It’s evil I’m telling you! EVIL! Anyway, I hold my ground as to my original statements, and eagerly await your rebuttle 🙂
Mannequin
Wait a second… “Wiccanwitch” is a vampire now too? Where the hell do you live? I mean sure, I have blood sucking withes in my town too, but no vampires… I lick my wounds when I get all cut up… does that count? Anyone else think that blood tastes like pennies?
Mannequin
Good argument you put up MANNEQUIN i like your thoughts and views you did good to defend your idea’s ….. I think you made your point…..
I think this is possibly the best thread going on darkness at the moment, it seems to have captured every aspect of the site, from controversy (sp? I apologise, I’m tired) to humour (mannequin and your ice cream and bread lol 😉
There are some posts that have been and gone while I was away, some that I’ve been affronted by their denial of others beliefs and opinions, others that I’ve been sitting here nodding my agreement to.
In adding more of my thoughts I will (boringly) repeat what has been said so many times before, we may choose to believe in, or care about, what we wish – whether it is us as beings or some ‘higher force’ that is in control. Nobody should deny us that, however wrong we appear to be, because thoughts are what make us interesting, what make us all different.
Then again, this is only my malformed opinion, I’m young and still learning about all things – I HOPE that my opinion changes over time, because that will mean my mind is still open.
(LOL) That makes me think~~>blood does kinda tastes like pennies.
oops *Taste* Hehe
Hmmm… where to start. Im going to try to keep this short so…
WiccanWitch: I agree with you completely about us destroying the Goddess’ gift, I don’t agree with pollution, thats an advantage of living in a tiny country.
Buuuut, I would like to know, I am not criticizing you, just curious, how do you fit vampiricism into Wicca? Due to not being a vampire, I know little about it, but what I do know seems to contradict greatly with Wicca, which I do know about. I’d be interested to learn.
Mannequin: Are you a psych student?
Thicktears: Waaay outta line, with the comment about Wicca being a game. Singling out one religion for a personal insult is not cool.
There were heaps of really good thoughts and comments, you guys are so fascinating.
Hope this makes sense, I’m only half with it.
Yes, I am indeed a psych student (among other things). Why do you ask?
It’s become apparent (to me at least), that this forum has become less and less about the original topic, and more about just hanging out with each other. Well done “freeck”. Now we all have somewhere to go… Maybe THIS is the meaning of life?
Mannequin
My question is, where is the famous,”Freeck”? I want to have freecks input~~>since he is the mastermind behind this whole hangout. I must say, I do enjoy seeing what everyone has to write though.. 😉
Pennies taste like blood? Lmao, maybe they reuse dead bodies to make U.S. coins.
That is a thought….hmmm, I swear this world does some freaky shit anyway. It would not surprise me one bit.
This was or is a good spot to chat. Eveyone has good views and points it was fun.
I just figured you took psych from some of the things you said. (I also take psych)
And yeah, this is a good place to hang out… but it’s probably not a good idea to taste pennies, think of all the people that have touched them, and where allllll those peoples hands have been.
Just a thought.
I’m sure my tongue’s been in worse places… YOU TOUCHED MY ASS PENNIES!
Mannequin
LOL~~>eeeeeeeeeewwwwwwww, you guys I actually stuck one in my mouth.(That is when you know, you have no life.) I was curious:)
LOL
Here’s an idea: What if this was all one big experiment? How does it feel to know you have all been guinea pigs? (Some very impressive guinea pigs at that)
I posted this with one idea in mind. I wanted to see the reactions people would have when there beliefs are shaken. I expect some of you read this and agreed, I expect most of you read this and felt like ending my life for being so ignorant. That was my intent. You have all shown that everyone is different and anyone who chooses to believe otherwise is a fool and a conformist.
As for my views, who knows. I’m at a time in my life where I don’t even know what my views are. I’m sure you can remember what it was like being 16.
I am especially impressed with the writing from wiccan witch, quintessance, voltarrens, mannequin and cruentus66. You are all brave enough to stand up and admit you have different views than everyone else. You can wear your differences with pride and are therefore nonconformists. The world will never have more people like you.
The circle rotates, shedding colours, gaining darkness. It all falls into nothing and nothing is beautiful for this. We have to say thank you. It is polite and we are told it is right. Its a dream you can never have, but dream of dreaming.
Thankx.
We’ll never know ’till the end of time 🙂
Hey thanks:) That was really neat what you did. I never would have thought of it. *Bravo*
I’m still waiting on my damned rebuttle…
BANG!——-x_X< (headshot)
Mannequin
That’s it! We’re ALL going out for ice cream! ‘Cause everyone knows that the meaning of life can be found at the bottom of an ice cream sundae. Don’t question me damn you! EAT IT!
Mannequin
Mmm… I like vanilla…
oh that is so freaky~~>I got online, and get this~~>I am eating green mint chip….it’s a sign, ice cream is “the way”
(lol) mmmm…..ice cream 😉
But icecream isn’t the way for those of us *sigh* who are lactose intolerant.
Too much makes me sick. *pouts*
Life is so unfair.
*a small violin, playing a sad little song, just for Beautiful Mess*
I feel deep sorrow for anybody denied the pleasure of eating an entire tub of ice cream, it may not take a way your problems in the long run, but it does make a tasty distraction 😀
Yeah, I love it… In very small doses
*weeps melodramatically*
Haven’t they invented ice cream that tastes exactly the same, is priced the same, comes in the same range of flavours amd packaging but won’t make people with lactose problems ill yet?
*sigh* what is the point in science and new technology eh? 😉
I don’t know… but it could be be so much better, icecream that doesn’t make people like me sick, and cigarettes that don’t kill… *sigh*
alcohol that doesn’t rot your liver…
junk food that doesn’t destroy your teeth…
Ice Cream Gives Me Gas…
Nay sayers give me brain aneurisms. Ow… my brain…
Mannequin
(PS: Where’s my rebuttle damnit?)
Eat ice cream, bottle the gas and sell it as methane. you’ll go far.
Problem solved, with ice cream 😉
Mannequin,
Yeah I am a vampire. I live in the U.S.A, and no, licking your own blood doesn’t count. Bloodsucking Witches? Don’t you think that is being alittle blunt (hee… hee. I said blunt )? I mean sure, some vampires do suck the blood out of their victims but some vampires get their blood from blood banks and hospitals. (they aren’t old fashion like some)
Kaleo
wow how much have I missed, Icecream, gas, brain aneurisms, vampires…….what are we talking about now? 🙂
I am not sure, I was kinda lost at first too.
Kaleo
I think you missed my joke “Wiccanwitch”. It was not supposed to be taken literally. Frankly, I don’t believe in vampirism to begin with, except as an aspect of repressed human fear and sexuality. I’d even go so far as to say that of all the people on this site, I probably am within the top 10 regaurding vampiric knowledge (in all it’s various forms, not just European noir). While this of course sounds like a boast (which it is), I’m not one for making baseless claims. As usual, I’m prepared to defend my claim if need be (prefferably on a different forum as this one has already become direly convoluted [which I admit is due in no small part to myself]). Also, you (“Wiccanwitch”) strike me as younger than myself, and thus having access to blood banks is unlikely at best. Of course, if I was immortal, I’d have probably figured out a way to gain access as well despite my physical age. Of course, if I was a vampire, human life would probably be next to meaningless to myself, as it is already headed along that road and thus a blood bank would be nothing more than an insurance policy. Death would be merely the next step in mortal life, perhaps the most important step (other than birth obviously)… A step which I would be denied. I would probably slip slowly into the deathly grip of self pity and apathetic hubris over the years, bothering to rise only occasionally to feed or find some new wonder of the last decade (let me commend you upon your mastery of our technology by the way, as it must have been difficult to acclimate). But that’s just me. Anyway… It was a joke.
Mannequin
Oh no, another Vampire talk…..Kaleo~~>does this bring memories from,”I am a vampire”. Well, I don’t really have any big comments about Vampires. Here is my knowledge~~>they drink blood. Yup that’s it 🙂 By the way I am human (haha, if it wasn’t obvious)~~>and I am tired of being stereo typed as food(lol)J/P~~>Life is what you make it, so why not have some jokes right? Hey~~>Can someone tell me……Why when guys have sex a lot, and they tell people, they are called “pimps” and get big ups for it. But if you are a woman…..and you even kiss a guy, you get classified as “easy”. It is not fair~~>just because of girls that want to strip and sell their bodies, I have to deal with it. It is absolutely sickening…..I can’t stand it. Oh, and what makes some guy think he can whistle at me like a dog~~>and “I’ll a come a runnin!” SORRY~~>completely off the subject of Vamps, but I was watching the commercial for “Girls gone Wild”~~>ugggh, they make me so mad. I have been degraded by my fellow women…..WHY, Why, why???
Very good question “quintessence”, I have thought of it myself and reached several possible conclusions. First off, not all guys are labeled “pimps” for being promiscuous. Many are labeled scum bags. Another thing to keep in mind is that when a guy brags about his sex life and is called a pimp, it is usually by his friends, who are usually other guys. So a guy is usually only labeled a pimp by other guys. Agreeable so far? Ok, so onto the subject of women. I believe that women are aften labeled sluts and etc. by other women. Men probably just picked up the banner. Another aspect to consider is the nature of the female genetalia and a woman’s role in sex. A woman is the one who is entered, and retains the fluids from sexual intercourse. A penis can be easily washed and therefore be easily cleaned, while a vagina (god I hate that word) is not so easy. So there is a psychological association that the more men a woman takes in, the more “stuff” that is up there. Sounds kind of gross… dirty even. Also, the more men a woman’s been with, the more stretched she is likely to become while the penis is fairly unaltered from sexual interaction. This gives the association of it being used and not “new” so to speak. Most people prefer having a new… whatever. The word used is also associated with the words broken, dirty, and damaged. I hope this clears the matter up somewhat. Aren’t you glad you asked? lol
Mannequin
lol~~~>that was great 🙂 thanks….It is so unfair though, guys weenies stay the same, while girls koochies get all spread out. Well, anyhow~~>it makes me want to practice abstinence. Don’t think the BF would agree though. I guess that is why you should just find someone you love dearly and stay with that one person:)
I have something of a thought for guys about the original statements. Thinking of the BIG BANG theory their was an explosion of energy that came from unknown origin correct? Well place your hand on your key board you can fell this right’? But you cant see the particles that make up that key board. So what if the energy in the Big Bang theory was always their. The particles are just to small for us to see maybe infinite in size going on forever. Have you ever thought of it in this way? Just a thought for you to ponder on………
I don’t know exactly what you mean “FadedSnow”, but if you are implying that perhaps energy “always is and always was”, then I may agree with you. In my original “dissertation” as it were, I mentioned something along these lines. However, officially speaking there was an actual “beginning” to time (The Univers in a Nut Shell, Stephen Hawking), at least according to moderm quantum theory. String theory however may prove this wrong in the future, but this has yet to be seen.

Hmmm, you both have a good point (as I blow on my bubble pipe and sit back in my chair thinking)…….. I have no idea what I am talking about. Just had to write something, I am so bored……Ok, shutting up now 😉
lol still bored quintessance… hahah
lol still bored quintessance… hahah
Actually I just found this really neat paper clip with………OK yeah I am still bored(lol) 😉
have you ever noticed how some paper clips smell really metallic? *throwing this randomly into smelting pot of bordom*
lol~~>hold on let me smell some of them…………..yeah, they kinda do(I have way too much time on my hands) 😉
(+ way too much stationary by the sounds 😉
I prescribe, with my *extensive* medical knowledge, the use of a spoon for alleviation of bordom. Apply twice daily to the backs of your hands and take with meals where neccessary 😀
LOL~~~>Will do Doc!
So what do you prescribe for a lack of motivation? I have an essay and a lab report due soon… I need to start them!
WiccanWitch – You still haven’t answered my question…
take nsome ecstacy lol
hmm… could work… or could go horribly wrong!
I prescribe the use of a plate for improving motivation. Apply twice daily to the soles of your feet and take with meals where neccessary 🙂
…noticing a pattern here? heh.
Actually, I’m such a persuasive practitioner of alternative table-setting medicine that I may have to try that one…
Well… you’re the Doc – I’ll start today!
Trust me, I’m a doctor…(kind of…ish…)
I think I need to prescribe myself some alcoholic beveridges to take away this horrible condition called “coursework” I don’t think it’s contagious but it’s very painful and hard, also causes personality and mood changes and has the possibility to interfere with sleep patterns…
I think I have a similar condition – “uniwork”, it causes stress, irritability, spontaneous yelling at noisy people… and my goddam essays due on my birthday, and my lab report a few days after… which means I’ll have to restrict the excessive drinking. *sigh* I’m developing a condition called “lifesabitch”
(wow, that’s actually the first time i’ve smiled since I started doing this question, 3 plus hours ago…thanks!)
That does sound suspiciously similar… perhaps they both lead to “lifesabitch”…hmm I’m not sure whether it would be possible for one to be bacterial and the other viral…worth a try though…!
bad luck on the birthday/work clash. This crap is due in tomorrow. What fun.
end of the year~~~>everything’s due, but don’t worry, summer is coming soon!! 🙂
yes, summer…exams!
ah well, one day at a time and today’s a nice sunny one with not too much work in it, plus last night I spring-cleaned a load of rambling philosophical rubbish out of my head by spouting it into emails 🙂
Well, I’ve wagged yet another lecture today, to “do my essay” which is due tomorrow *sigh*. Only I’m not doing it… It’s soooo boring. Half of it is anyway.
I’ve prescribed myself a beer and a cigarette for lunch, I’m sure that will fix me. Or at least make me feel better temporarily.
And please stop talking about summer coming soon… it’s not here… damn bottom of the Earth.
It’ll be ok…..I feel bad for you, but then again I gotta get started on my own~~>so I am feeling sorry for myself too 😉
BM, with medical advice of that variety you’re a doctor after my own heart 😉
woopee – my exams start on the 14th, and end early june, the fun is just about to begin!
…or perhaps not…yes, I think not is the safer option…!
Vampires…… wicca…… well I guess that Vampires can have any religion that they want. Sucking blood isn’t the only thing they do. Wicca is an acceptance to all beliefs and religions. They don’t stike down anyone, and they are very openminded. Sssooo….. I was wiccan and was turned into a vampire, (or learned who I was, so to speak). So now I practice Wicca WHILE I am a vampire. I know, I can’t explain things very well……
Kaleo
It occurred to me that the wiccan religion and the vampiric state are juxtaposed in practice and lifestyle. Wiccan is about appreciation for that which is natural and of the earth (much like ancient druids without all the sacrifice and whatnot [frankly I’ve never heard from anyone that wiccan is an acceptance of all beliefs and religions. The only religion I’ve heard of that would fit that bill {in my limited experience} is called B’hai]), while vampirism is… well… unnatural… Infact, vampirism is almost synonomous with parasite, which is a term many wiccans apply to industrial expansion. Personally if I was a vampire, I would be VERY curious about the condition’s origin… I’d probably even devote my eternal existance to the persuit of such knowledge (and sex of course… lots of sex :P). Anyway, as long as we’re on the subject; where do vampires come from? Do I have to be the seventh son of a seventh son to become one? Do you have any powers? Do you live forever? Do you have any weaknesses (sunlight etc.)? How many of you are there? Are there different species or sects of vampires? Is there animosity between these various sects? Is it difficult to become accustomed to new technology? Can you have sex? Do you enjoy it on a physical level? Do you still have any biological functions? What’s so great about blood? Does it taste like pennies to you? What’s the relationship between the ancients and the newbies? Who was the first vampire? Is s/he still around? Can I meet her/him? Anyway, I have lots more questions, and answers are appreciated. However, I must say honestly that I am still not convinced, but have accepted the possibility that when you say “vampire” you mean something completely different than what I mean when I say it. G’night folks, and don’t let the vampires bite…. BUA HA HA HA HA HA HA!
Mannequin
hello Mannequin,
maybe you’d like to try hunt up this book, don’t know if it’s still in print about vampire folklore: “The Book of Vampires” by Dudley Wright. My copy was printed in 1973 by Causeway Books in hardcover.
If not, email me 🙂
Mannequin,
I couldn’t have said it any better. I always wanted to know exactly what you asked, but never placed it out on the table as well as you did. Thanks for making it easier:) I can’t wait to see if anyone replies, I am very interested to know 😉
Although I am very curious as to what “WiccanWitch”‘s answers may be to my questions, I am not a believer. Vampiric mythology is one of my many interests, it is perhaps even my focus (infact I’ve taken college courses on the subject and may one day become a “vampirologist” as it were [this is not the official name of the profession] however, I doubt there’s enough money in the field to hold my interest beyond graduation). Yet unfortunately my fetish with vampires does not make them real. I remain COMPLETELY skeptical on the subject until I am given empirical evidence or data, and even then I will check it for myself. I realize that there is a psychological condition called a “blood fixation (or fetish)” in which sufferers feel the need to consume blood for one reason or another, but this is in no way vampirism. Also, sometimes anemics (spelling?) or albinos were confused for vampires in the past. Their skin tone burned badly in the sun, and in the case of anemics, their iron deficiency was often supplemented with blood as it’s a perfectly good source of iron (hence the penny taste). Lycanthrope is another story entirely. It is an actual disease. I’ve seen people with it (at Kmart no less). And they do indeed look like werewolves (poor bastards). Anyway, I’m not crazy, I don’t believe in vampires, or fairies or even spaceships behind the hail-bop comet, but that doesn’t mean I’m not interested.
Mannequin
PS: Thank you for your referrence “Voltarrens”, I’ll be sure to look it up when I finish my current project 🙂
Wow, thanx for shooting me down………
Mannequin,
I am sorry you don’t believe me……. It’s sad.
To me Wicca allows much freedom of thought, belief, and practices. It also teaches acceptance of all others and good morals. I only follow the believe, because they are so much like my own. Occasionally I will perform a ritual, and I meditate alot.
I am also a vampire…
No i don’t burn up in the sun, I am not immortal. Blood is more than taste, its a lust. Yes, I can have sex, lots and lots and lots and freaking lots…… I’ts great. The reason I practice wicca is because it makes me feel like I haven’t lost all of my humanity. I like the way that Wicca makes me feel, and if you don’t believe me well, I am sorry you feel that way.
Kaleo
P.S
I may have repeated myself a couple of times, sorry……..
A vampire and wiccan.
You know you could use the sexual energy you have to help heal others and the earth itself by focusing it in that direction, then it becomes more and becomes ultimately creative in itself. Consider it another form of ritual. I do this often myself.
I feel as though none of my good questions were answered… only the ones I was joking about…
*pout* 🙁
Mannequin
(PS: Good book “Voltarrens”. I just started it. I thank ye for the recommendation :))
I am freaking sorry none of your questions got answered, I am to tired and lazy….
Kaleo
Do I sense irritation? lol
Mannequin
Hmmm… I sense some hostility… *smirks*
Hmmm… I sense some hostility… *smirks*

“Do we sense a bit of hostility Harold?”
“Yes we do John.”
“And we don’t like hostility do we Harold?”
“No we don’t John”

No, no hostility
Well mabey………. who knows????
Kaleo
I have missed way too much since I have been moving…….this sucks. Oh well, I am just glad to be back. 🙂
And it is good to have you back.
Thanks! 🙂
This thing has gotten guiet. HOw sad……..
Kaleo
:*( Yeah~~~>and I missed all of the talk! Oh well…..hey does anyone have any idea why no new writings have been posted? If anyone has any information please tell me, thanks 🙂
define reality
Reality is a general concensus of the majority, and any who disagree are “mad” and therefore dangerous.
“I’m mad. You’re mad. We’re all mad here.” -The Cheshire Cat: Through the Looking Glass, Lewis Carol
Mannequin
Madness, what one would consider it would be anothers’ reality. The problems begins when we don’t realise, or is it when we realise and try to resolve it?
And I do know the Cheshire Cat and wasn’t he just wonderful in American McGee’s Alice? Nice little tale, don’t you think? mad in it’s own little way after the realization of Alice’s Looking Glass world.
And I’d like to know too what’s happening with Darkness, what’s happen to the mods and admin?????????
Seriously. I wrote a little poem several months ago, and only recently was it posted. Curiouser and curiouser…
Mannequin
hmmmm…..it’s a mystery.
My god has this post been going on a long time. I just updated the email in my profile so I wasn’t getting any indication it was still active. Imagine my surprise, as I haven’t posted anywhere in months.
I suppose it is a little late to continue our argument Mannequin, heh :). If you’re still interested, here’s my thoughts.
To clarify, my posts were based on your original assertion that the energy didn’t come from anywhere and exists outside the laws of thermodynamics. The sphere thing was anticipating the usage of an outdated big bang theory involving energy having always been, which to your credit you did not use anyway. When you asserted that in the end energy will not disappear even if it’s reduced to a mist of leptons, you were on the dot. Energy IS immortal, I just mean that it hasn’t always been there because it can come from nothing if overall it equals nothing.
And for the whole empirical thing, nothing is verifiable by experiment, it can only be supported. Your own example provides experimental evidence that ice cream causes crime as a blow against blind logic, but experiments with physics are a different matter. You can isolate variables for most simple experiments and provide a pretty good correlation (though no 100% verification of cause) but you can’t create another big bang, or even a very tiny one. All we do is smach things in supercolliders and watch what heppens, then try to create a mathematical formula that explains things. We then use that formula and apply it to other things, like energy in the universe and big bangs, etc. We have no direct experiments for those things, instead we have empirical evidence in microcosms and mathematical inductive reasoning for macrocosms.
Any demand for evidence is really to demand the math behind supercollisions and the current best models of string theory. Alas, you have gotten me, I don’t have that evidence. Go get a supercollider and check the work of the best minds in physics if you want. But if you’re like me, by now you don’t care about net energy being zero and are content that the current manifestation of energy as we know it is immortal. And hey, maybe it’s even a sentient god-thing, who can tell?
I stand corrected upon my previous requests for emperical data. However, I only ever said that the energy that composes the very fabric of existence is only as sentient as everything that it encompasses. Thus it would truly be omniscient in the sense that it literally is the experience of everything. True, a rock is not a sentient being, but it is experienced by other sentient beings and the culmunation of those experiences defines what it is to be that rock (I’m sure “Cruentus66” probably understands what I mean, but for those of you who don’t, I’ll be glad to clarify). Thus, through the knowing of all relations of sentient beings to a specific rock, the energy is aware of what it is to actually be a rock. Also, to pose an interesting question… People often ask where everything came from, but fail to realize that there can be no “before the beginning”, because it IS the beginning. People often attempt to ascribe characteristics to “nothing”, but it is truly impossible as it is beyond comprehension as anything more than an abstract concept (I’ve noted many who believe that what fills the gaps between protons and electrons is “nothing”, however, empty space is NOT NOTHING!!! Empty space is SOMETHING [I would further argue that there may be no such thing as empty space, however, that is not my current topic])). Thus nothing can come before the beginning, so it would seem as though everything has indeed come from nothing. Odd idea I know, but it makes sense. Why or how everything came from nothing is another matter entirely, which I am certain we will eventually discuss 😉
