A Vampire’s Journey

Chapter One
Bloodlust

The moon was lively and full as I sat on the very edge of the wood. My life didn’t much depend on the moon. For it didn’t need it. My life depended on the night. I had the cursed life and nothing could change it.

Every night, I crept from my hiding place to cure my hunger that pulverised me every time I never fed it in time. My hunger; now a menace. Pulsing at my temples and banging at my head……..begging…….FEED ME!!!

I couldn’t stand the pain that was deep inside my stomach. Then, I heard a twig crack behing me. I spun around. A boy, about my age I was suppose to be, was lurking around. I smiled and walked toward him.

I attacked the bloody basterd from behind and then turned him over. I layed ontop of him, knowing he enjoyed his unexpected mistress. His heart was beating fast and mine was beating faster.

I thanked the imbisol and reached for his neck. I licked the throbbing veign and instantly sunk my teeth in. Blood gushed into my mouth and rushed down my throat, curing my hunger. The headache that taunted me went away, and I felt much better.

When I knew exactly half his blood was gone, I sat up and stared him mercilessly in the eye. His eyes were an ice blue and reflected the moon. His white-blonde hair was ruffled from the attack. Oh no, I thought. It’s him.

And so it was. My love I had left behind when I was turned at the end of middle school.

“Why?” he managed to choke.

A tear rolled down my cheek. The strength he had left wiped it away.

“Turn me.” he said fearlessly.

“No,” I said.

“You have to.” he yelled and shook my shoulders.

“I don’t want you to face pain.” I protested.

“But you have to…..it’s the only way I can live, and be with you.” he said.

His words stabbed my heart and I sat up. I bit my wrist and held it to his mouth. He drank what was needed and he pulled back. My love screamed in agony as his internal organs disappeared. His eyes turned to ice blue crescents.

He looked up at me. I smiled.

“How does it feel?” I asked.

“Great.” he said and stood up.

“Let’s get you some more food.” I suggested.

” I had something else in mind.” he said.

He moved closer to me, his breath on my neck. He ran his hand down my arm lightly giving me goosebumps.

“Want some more privacy?” he asked.

“Enlighten me.” I answered.

He took my hand and led me to a place he had made above the ground in a treehouse where our romance would continue for that night……
