Advice To An Old Flame

Beautiful flame, flickering,
Mezmerizing.
Touch it and be singed.
But, a lesson learned therein;

Be the fire.
Do unto others… first.
Far easier to inflict pain than receive.
A wisp of smoke, a spark.
A kiss before dying.
Tiny flames lick tender kindling.
Death of humanity;
A good start? Or the beginning
Of the end?
Make the choice quickly.
Fan the flame or
Stamp it out; but do not
Smolder in mediocrity.
Little fire,
Easily consumed by a raging inferno leaving
Ghostly white cinders in it’s wake.
Think hard;
Choose wisely.
