Beliefs?

I never cared about what people thought of me, what people thought of anything… and I never will, but what I am about to talk about is crazy. People get mad at me for not believing in God.

You can believe in what you want, I see nothing wrong with that, but then why can’t I believe what I want? Well this is my reason why I don’t belive in God. He wouldn’t have let 9.11 happen (that is so old, people died, but move on [sorry, I am not sympathetic]). He wouldn’t let people come up to you take out there gun, and shoot you right in your fucking face. He wouldn’t let someone you love with everything you have die. Then people say, well do you believe in the Devil? I say, “If I don’t believe in God, how could I believe in the Devil?” Well, listen to this… There could be a Jesus, but there is no God, and If God is supposevely a Sprit, how could he have in-pregnated Mary to have Jesus? Well I am not a religious person, and that is what I think, You can believe what you want. Everyone is there own person, and everyone has a right.

  1. Right. I don’t think there is a god or a devil. I just believe that beliefs are necessary for people to live and hold on to their lives. Like, for some people it is important to live properly so they can ‘go to heaven’ when they die.
I think the one right and true religion does not exist, because all gods are created by human minds, in order to understand life (or at least have the illusion that they do).
I, myself, am a wiccan. But I think of it as a perspective on life, I don’t think it is truth, or that the whole world should become wiccan. Everybody should pick the religion that works for him/ her, whatever keeps them alive I’d say…

  2. I agree completely with FDMI. (Except that I have no religion.)

I too get issues when people find out I’m an Atheist. The minute they hear I don’t believe in God, they think I’m either a Satanist or I’m depressed and suicidal. The second may be partly true, but assumptions can’t be made about that topic at all.

My best friends believe I’m going to hell because I don’t believe in some … thing, that causes some people to sit in their houses all day waiting for a job to drop out of the roof and onto their jello-filled heads. Not that I have anything against them. I’ve just grown so sick of Christianity, all I’ve ever gotten from them is a load of bull every day. When they’re not attempting to force their religion on me, they’re telling me to kill myself because I’ll just go to hell anyway. It’s very unnerving to wake up and not want to go to school because you know you’ll go through the same shit day after day.

And then when people say they’re offended by the antibelief of a god. That just really pisses me off. Society jumps right up to do something about people that worship the fires instead of the heavens, yet they don’t do a goddamned thing when we turn it around and say that Christianity’s ways are offensive to us. It’s just as easy to say, and it’s just as valid a complaint.

I know I’m not the only one to get ticked off at attempted forcings to convert.

  3. I agree with both of you. (I have no religion either) but I have no problem with people who want to believe what they want.

  4. I don’t believe in an god either, but your reasoning troubles me. Why does shit happening mean there isn’t a god? There could just be a god that doesn’t care. There’s more than enough other reasons to not believe in a god, please don’t resort to overused philosophy about right and wrong and bad things happening when “bad” is just a human classification.

Maybe there’s a god that doesn’t believe in right, wrong, or compassion.

  5. uh.. Did I say those were the only reasons? I didn’t say well, this and that and that, and those are the only reason’s God doesn’t exsist, there are many other reasons I have, but then the post would’ve been too long.

  6. I hate it when people assume things that I would or wouldn’t do =X

  7. Well, it was the only reason listed, and you never said anything about others. I really don’t even like it as a primary reason. Please just stick to the others, reasons like that make atheism seem irrational and even childish.

  8. uh huh. well it’s already posted, and if you really got disturbed by my post you can post another thing about beliefs and say whatever shit you want?
    ::mumbles–stupid fuck heads::

  9. I’m sorry but I must agree with Cruentus, I think the reason that you give for not believing in a god is too shallow, and yes, maybe even childish. But I know it is the easiest one to name, for I couldn’t instantly name another either…
you seen ‘end of days’? the guy that plays the devil says something like, “when good things happen, they say it is god’s will. when bad things happen, well, god moves in mysterious ways…and the bible basically tells you shit happens.”
so, as I was saying, the perception that god does not exist because if he did, he wouldn’t let that many bad things happen, is easy to come up with. but there are also so many other things; unlogical stuff in the bible, contradictions, where’s the apocalypse, theories of men creating god and not the other way around…and such things are proof to me, but not to everyone…so the only proof which would be accpted by most people remains, that god wouldn’t let all this shit happen.
but people can believe what they want, if it comforts them to stick to a god and tell themselves that he moves in mysterious ways, it’s fine with me then, respect. but I personnally can’t help thinking they’re being foolish…

::and we know we’re stupid fuck heads, what else would we be doing here in darkness…just do remember we’re here together, and you are as stupid a fuckhead as anybody else here::

  10. Stupid fuck head — I know I am one, and I didn’t mean for anyone to take that seriously.

Everyone has there own opinion, but there is no reason for people to get mad at me for which reasons I decided to list, and which ones I decided to leave out. Again, I never said that those were the only reasons, I have many other reasons, and maybe I shoud have been clearer and said :: “These are some reasons why I don’t believe in God, but I do have many others” That might have put more comfort to some of you that read this post, and I am sorry that it discomforted some of you. My sincere apologies…?
