Chapter 1
“I want to welcome all of you to a new school year. We, as student and teachers intended to make this year the best like every year that there been. I welcome new freshmen and say good luck to the serious who will be leaving this year.”
The Gym was cowered with students as student filled the bleachers till there was no room left. Al listening to the principal talk about things to come. The new serious excited to finally be the ones to be shined on. Everyone expect for Ebony Millers. He eyes stared down at her lap as she wished to be anywhere expect for at school that moment.
She had lost the one person she loved more than anything. Cory’s death case was closed due to confusions of his death. When Cory walked in the kitchen that day, when he fell to the floor, we was dead. The police came and said that there wasn’t a drop of blood left in his body expect for the bit that was on his hand. The police called it a ‘Vampire Crime’. Reports swarmed everywhere due to the small town and such a crime.
Ebony found that everything had gone down hill for her. She cried most of the time and couldn’t seem to pick things back up the way that they were. Two and a half mouth had passed and Ebony found that she still couldn’t stop crying over Cory.
Once the speech were over, ebony hurried to the bathroom, finding that tears were once again falling down her cheeks. Hurrying into one of the stales, she slightly cried to herself as she tried to clam down. She stooped when she heard two girls enter the bathroom.
-“Is she at school today?” one of the girls asked.
-“Who knows or care?” another girl said whom Ebony noticed the vice. It belong to Cindy Widemen. One of the head cheerleader, Homecoming queen, Prom Queen, Pageants winner, and so on to make her be more stuck up than she was made out to be. He and Ebony never got along and she knew that Cindy hated more than anything that Cory was her boyfriend. Cindy was jealous and Ebony knew this all too well.
-“I feel sorry for Ebony.” The other girl said while turning on the water. “I mean, losing her boyfriend seeing that they were so close and all, it must be hard on her.”
Cindy grunted.
-“Cory’s death was a weird one. There calling it the ‘vampire crime’! I mean, I’ve never in my whole life ever heard of such a silly thing such as that! I mean I think it’s a cover up for something else that might have happened.”
-“Really!? I mean, what else could have happened if it wasn’t that?”
-“Who knows! I mean, I wouldn’t be surprised at all to think if Ebony had something to do with all of it.”
The other girl laughed.
-“Oh come on! You don’t really think that Ebony had anything to do with it, do you?”
-“I don’t know Mary. Like I said, I wouldn’t be surprised at all. I mean, Ebony was so stuck Cory till it pained me to see them! Ebony might have gotten too jealous because Cory might have been getting ready to break up with her to date me and she got mad over how much he would have liked me more than her!”
Ebony bit her lip at the lie, trying not to get blow her top as she continued to listen.
-“No way! Cory was going to break up with Ebony!? And date you!? Now things make since. After all, you two don’t like each other anyways!”
Ebony had heard enough and opened the door of the bathroom stale so hard, it flew open with a loud thud, making Cindy and Mark jumped.
-“Oh-Ebony! We didn’t know-
-“Save it!” Ebony shouted as she walked pass Mary and walked up to face Cindy whom had a smirk on her face at the challenge.
-“Why don’t I slap that smile off of your face Cindy. Or do you want me to show you wants so funny!?” Ebony said, her anger out of tack with normally happened when she got mad.
-“We were just leaving!” Mary said while trying to pull Cindy out of the bathroom, guessing a fight. But Cindy jerked her arm away and glared at Ebony, still smiling.
-“No, I’ve got something I want to say to this bitch!” Cindy said while looking right into Ebony’s eyes.
-“Damn you Cindy! My boyfriend was just murdered and here your grinning your ass of f like this is some kind of joke!” Ebony said, her voice creaking form the tears.
-“Ebony, it would be different if I cared. But unlike some of the people at this school, I don’t feel sorry for you at all. I think you deserved to lose Cory, even to me!”
-“To you!?”
-“Yes. I know it was you whom Cory was trying to date! You killed him because of that and covered it up with make believe lie! My God! I can’t believe you were that stuck over that boy! Him and I would have been happy together!”
Ebony pulled back her hand and punched Cindy square in the face with all her might.
-“You bitch! Get that 6-foot pole that’s stuck up your ass out! You know for a fact that is not true!!”
Mary tried to help Cindy to her feet, but once again, Cindy pushed Mary away.
-“Face the fact Ebony! There’s no need for you to take your anger out on me! The only crime Cory did was love me and not you! You decided in your own hateful way that if you weren’t going to have him, then no on was! But now that he gone, maybe now you won’t walk around with that million dollar smile!” Cindy stood up and faced Ebony again. “Cory is gone! You hear me! And he’s never coming back! And for once, I glad. You deserved every bit of this pain your going trough. And I hope you drown in it! I hope it swallows you up!”
As much as Ebony tried to hold back tears, they still seemed to come. She wanted so much to hit Cindy again whom still seemed to smile. She hated Cindy more than anything and couldn’t stand the fact that there was nothing she could do about it. Finally, losing the battle to a stair down, Ebony rushed from in front of the two girls with tears of shame and hurt falling down her cheek.
When Ebony ran out of the bathroom, she ran right into a student, not even bothering to look up at him or say she was sorry.
