Blood Dripping Roses
Chapter 2

The whole day for Ebony seemed to go by with a blur. Finally she founded that no more tears for her boyfriend could be shed. None of her classes seem to get her attion. The warning of failing all of her class from being depressed came to mind. But Ebony didn’t seem to care if she failed or not. So what if she wasn’t given the chance to walk across the stage at her graduation? After all, all life seem to be over for her now that Cory was dead.
Amy and Neely tried there best to get Ebony out to the mall or the back to school party.
-“Why not Ebony? Amy begged. “You need to get out more! Go somewhere, do something. Move on with your life.
But like always, Ebony told a lie to keep Amy and Neely off her back.
-“I’ve got…a lot of work to do at home. Maybe some other time.”
(Am I losing my friends too?) Ebony had wondered to herself as she sat watch the river at the park after school.
She remembered how often she and Cory would spend time there. If you came to the park at the right time, you could see the sun shine down through the trees giving off a perfect gold ray through the trees. In the springtime, Cheery Blossom trees would grow, the pink petals flying all around the park. A perfect romantic place for any couple, young and old. But Ebony knew that no longer would Corry see this place. And sit there with her, not really saying much of anything, just enjoying his time there.
Tears once again begin to roll down Ebony’s cheek as she remembered the first time Cory had kissed her. Of course he accidentally bit her lips and drew blood. But at the time, Ebony didn’t care what he did.
-“This is a lovely place.” said a voice from behind her.
Ebony quickly wiped her tears away and looked up to see a guy she knew saw before. he stared down at her with a gentle smile. His short hair jelled up and he crossed his powerful looking arms.
-“Ebony Millers right?” he asked cooking his head to the side.
-“Huh yes. That’s me. Who are you?”
-“I’m Tommie. Mind if I join you?”
Tommie sat down next to her, not waiting for an answer.
-“You might not want to sit with me Tommie. I do nothing but cry now-a-days.” Ebony admitted drawing her kneels up to her chest.
-“I could understand why. Your were that guy, Cory Haywards, girlfriend right?”
-“Yeah.”
-“You ran into me this morning. I wanted to ask you then but you looked to be very upset at the time.”
Ebony looked over at Tommie noticing his odd accent.
-“Yeah, I was.” She look back at the water. “I cry all the time now. It’s like every time I think about Cory, waterfalls seem to happen. His death was so stranger. I’ve never heard of something like that happening to anyone. There were two dots on his neck the police said that his blood was drained from. Like a vampire. And there wasn’t a drop of blood left in his body. Also like a vampire. The whole thing was named a Vampire Crime scene. Once everything got into the news papers, all these so called vampire experts and hunters came here, trying to get a piece of the story from me, see as through I was the last to see him seconds before he fell to the floor. The case was closed due to the confusion of proof and the large amount of people, due to the crime, were coming into the once quiet little town.”
-“Do you believe?”
Ebony looked at Tommie.
-“Believe in what?”
-“In vampires?” Tommie said with a slight smile on his face.
Ebony looked away.
-“Vampires are not real. Don’t be stupid.”
-“Then how do you explain your boyfriend’s death?”
-“Like this, a crazy person did it.”
Growing tried of the conversation and seeing that it was getting dark, Ebony stood up and brushed the grass of her jeans.
-“It’s getting late and I really need to get home. It was nice talking to you Tommie.” Ebony said as she begin to walk away.
-“Do you want me to walk you home?” she heard Tommie ask from behind.
-“No, it’s only a few blocks away.” she lied.
