Brittle

The leaves in my mind opened up to the sun
Thoughts, seeking energy for life, one by one
They soaked in all there was to feel and see
Then, through the summer they kept on to be

Soon chilled breezes brushed by them
Made their outsides turn brittle, and withered their stems
The leaves in my mind began to turn, turn from the sun
Decaying brown destroying their green, one by one
Fall was now here, and summer is done

Innocence is now no more, brought birth of a new season
One built on worthless time suffering, and only thoughts of reason
Reality,truth,harshness of the fall’s cold
Killed the sun, covered it up,the leaves now dried out, brown, and old
Their smiles lost forever, they fell from my head
Onto the hardening ground, frowning, rotten and dead

Winter is approaching
So many tears locked away in that fall
The decaying season, where I lost it all
Winter is approaching
