Gazing into your misty eyes
Following the dewy leaves under the canopy
Through my own reflection
In the deep blue haze
Gazing into your misty eyes
Following the dewy leaves under the canopy
Through my own reflection
In the deep blue haze
Crunching on the squishy leaves
Wet and well trodden upon
Stopping in amazement at a flower in bloom
Leaning over to watch it kiss the sky from below
Sharing the lips of nature
Here in it’s presence I am whole
Losing myself in the depths of it
Thoughts cradling me
Keeping me warm among the frost
Of every day monotony
I hold back my consciousness
Not allowing it to ensnare in the deep thicket
Of my violent mental abandon
Only to have it paved over again
To have the cement and tar
Boiling upon me
Building up my hope
A handsome building
Worthy of nothing
Await at the top on your throne
With it’s golden gilded grotesquely
Misshapen metal
I wait for a devious smile
To bring down my foundation
Break it off
Crumble it horribly
Metamorphose the metal
It will be art worthy of disdain
A creation of destruction
Twisting my heart into new shapes
Beautiful desperate bitterness
Smoldering heart
Tissues searing
Scorching into the shape
Of your hand print when you left
I have stared into nature’s eyes for hours
Days, weeks, months
Knowing downfall is sure to come
Sure to plummet off of the paper-thin edge
Meeting my lovely demise
Jaggedly and rigidly staring into the rock
Binding me to the ground
As twisted an end as any could think
To torture me further towards your sweet oblivion
I have proven a pointless life
A mistaken battle
Among the hopeful living
Bright-eyed occupants of a single planet
Unworthy of existence
