Fauci okays Halloween

If any of you were waiting on official reassurance, we now have it. It’s okay this year to celebrate Halloween. At least Dr. Fauci, the all-wise guru of all things Covidy and pandemicy, says that letting your kids go trick-or-treating is safe. “This is a time that children love. It’s a very important part of the year for children.” So says the Fauch, according to the New York Times. Hey, doc, it isn’t just important to children. Adults love it just as much.

The Fauch also recently backtracked on his comments regarding families getting together over the holidays, now saying that it’s okay.

I expect the good doctor is sensing the frustration, even amongst those who, like me and all responsible citizens, have been paying attention to what he’s been saying all this time, with his sometimes contradictory proclamations. Hey, Fauch, we get it. It’s really hard to achieve 100% accuracy in your predictions in real time when you’re dealing with a living thing that is constantly evolving. But when you screw up, just own it. That we can respect. You promised the vaccine would largely be the end of our troubles with the ‘Rona and it wasn’t. It’s okay to admit you were wrong.

If you’re eligible and you haven’t already, get the vaccine. Then get out there and celebrate Halloween!
