flicker flicker…smolder

I sat there wavering in the darkness. Alone. The adjacent spaces, filled up with the silence in the room. As I rested on the ancient table my possessor laid me on, I flickered. My body melting slowly as I looked intently at the sinister walls. The murky waters, leaking in the ceiling, dripping down beside me, threatening to assassinate me. I tried fretfully to dodge my eradicators. A breeze gusted in from the broken glass window. Dangerously whirled around me. As it intimidated me with its powerful speed and force, I sputtered. When shortly left, I regained my strength and stood there. Motionless and strong. I glanced upwards, the leak was becoming greater and more dominant, yet I stood alive, fierce and stubborn. I was becoming weaker and weaker. My inner organs, dissolving, melting into liquid. My body was scorching with pain. I became smaller, and more fragile, yet I still stood, stationary. Nothing could I do to bring this to a halt. As I became a pathetic, puny thing, I gave a momentary peek, once more at the ceiling. I could feel it in me, my last second in the world. Abruptly, I witnessed a bead of water plunge down on me. Smoldering me.
