Alexandria took another drag from her almost dead cigarette. She loved the feel of the smoke as it polluted her lungs.
It was going to be one of those weeks, she could feel it. Some odd tense feeling floating around her as well. What ever it was she would meet it head on with full force.
She had just thrown the cigarette but out of the window when she saw the red and blue lights. Trying hard to curb her temper, she pulled over into the breakdown lane.
“Just great. The first cop I ever see on this dipshit deserted road and the fucker pulls me over!” She aggitatedly opened the glove compartment and dug around for her proof of insurance and registration. Finally finding it, she grabbed her purse and likewise hunted her license.
“License, registration, and proof of insurance please. Do you know how fast you were going back there?” The cop was already on her last good one with these words. She looked him up and down.
” I wasn’t doing over 55. I assumed that is the limit as I’ve never seen a speed limit sign around here. Infact you are the first policeman I’ve ever seen around here.” As she looked up, the papers dropped from her hand. All she could see was the blue Arkansas sky. Frantically she looked behind her car to see absolutely nothing. That was when she felt it. It came like the impact of a bomb, it was an overpowering sense of menace. Her hands shook as she grabbed for her keys. She quickly glanced up at the sky and saw that in an instant, the sky had gone from a beautifull bright blue to a threatining grayish green.
She had done atleast 120mph out of there. She finally got back home as it was the closest place. She paced around her living room. She was furious at being made to back down. She was Alexandria, she didn’t back down to anyone or anything. She quickly pulled out another cigarette, soul smoldering with rage.
