I actually wrote this based on a real experience I had. It was an extremely distubing and frightening dream I will never ever forget.. Sweet unconciousness. Breathe for life. My heart beats in slow rythmic pulses, fading in and out of reality. It was those cold, invisible hands I extremely feared; I detested. I couldn’t control its grip so ever tight around my neck. I thought this would be it. The end of two separate worlds: dream and reality. The death of both the mind and body at once. I remember desperately gasping, panic setting in. I tried to hold on to the utmost of something. Anything. The agonizing words I spoke came out as silence. My heart suddenly stopped beating, then it got really awkwardly quiet. My eyes forced open. I still felt those hands around my neck. The pulse of my heart was beating rapidly. I choked from the strangulation. I remember everything. Every emotion and every sensation. It was a nightmare of intense reincarnation. I will never know what happened to my previous soul. Until then I really didn’t believe you could actually die in dreams.

That’s really interesting .I’ve been lucid dreaming for about three years ,astral projection .I’ve always had big dreams and I’ve always enjoyed dreaming .Especially when I was a kid ,It’s a break from the physical world .Only I’ve been exploring it more on purpose now and it pays off big time .I’ve had some exta-ordinary dreams and I’ve also died .The feeling’s imense .I can’t remember the exact name for him/her but it’s like a dream-daemon .Have you ever woken from dreaming and not been able to move ?That’s due to one of these controlling you .Sitting on top of you ,that’s why you can’t move .There’s books on them .But don’t worry .You’ve just got to push them aside .Don’t ignore them .Make them go away .That’s what something I read said .I tend to find a lot of short inciteful paragraphs can do a lot more than a whole book .How long have you been having vivid dreams ?Do you lucid dream ,and on purpose ?If not ,I sugggest it .Bad dreams don’t necesarilly mean bad things ,I believe from my own experiences .You should enjoy them .Enjoy watching them ,taking part .Look at what’s going on and change it .Loads of amazing things will happen to you .Phsycically ,mentally and other wise .Anyway ,If you wanna chat some more just say and I might see it .I don’t check my address much but you can leave a print if you want … jamespowell@hotmail.com .I hope I have been of use to you ,and inciteful .I hope you carry on to dream some more ,enjoy .. May the powers guide you ..
i’ve had a few dreams where i know i must have been dead. its really hard to describe what i felt…
basically everything made sense to me, but i didn’t know everything…i felt completely free and at the same time like i was being held. i’ve never felt so comfortable…it was almost like having an eternal orgasm.
its really amazing the things we can feel when we’re unconcious. there are times i stay in bed for weeks because i don’t want to leave the security of my psyche.
I too find lucid dreaming a rewarding experiance. It helps one connect with one’s subconscious and unconscioius mind. I think when you are lucid dreaming you are actually closer to true awareness than most other times. It is when we can forget our limits bounds to the physical, “real” world.
Death in dreams is something I’m actually getting used to. I’ve frequently been poisoned (getting better at avoiding that though), I’ve been stabbed, etc. But my most interesting dream death was where I lived in this strange world where they knew when you would die, so you attended your own funeral and stepped into your own coffin. It was a strange death, and I never did decide if they had killed me or if it was natural; my heartbeat steadily slowed down, my breaths grew shallow, and all my functions began to slow down–except my thoughts. In that dream though, there was actually an afterlife, but I refused to pass through the gates; I fought a physical personification of death, and came back to life (in my dream, only my body had died, my spirit had to pass the gates to die)–I won, and when I came back to (it was like falling, and then there were sensations again, my heartbeat, breathing . . .). I managed to escape my coffin, and saw that I was outside and they were digging my grave.
In any case, terrifying as lucid dreaming can be, it is beneficial, and the more you’re in touch with these kind of things, the more you’ll understand yourself.
Thank you for replying to my post.
I have had very few lucid dreams, but when I do they come in the most intense forms.
I remember when I was younger I always had dreams of falling, and I would actually physically feel the drop on my body. The next thing I knew I woke up panicking and frightened.
There also some incidences where I could control my dreams; what I would want to happen would happen.
I will definately find out more about lucid dreaming.
Thanks.
