In the innocence of my smile
Lies a cruel deception
A deception so detrimental to your psyche
That the mere utterance will rob
The remaining fragments of a purity
I’ve already desecrated
My dear, you have been
Manipulated into believing
You’ve been receiving
A love that never was
Nor shall it ever be
Your body, not your mind, was my goal
Yet to conquer the former
I tamed the latter
Made you believe you thoughts mattered
Said what it took to make you feel
Flattered
And when it was over
Left your heart scattered
Upon a floor with no bottom
Yet you are still there, trying to pick
Up the pieces with thoughts like,
“What did I do wrong?” And
“I want this to work” running through
The remants of a once functional mind
The love you thought you saw in my eyes
Was a mere reflection
Of your obsession
With me
Now, I must move on
For I see the next victim
Whose confidence I must drain
But food for thought – meditate on this for a while
“A woman is not innocent, if her innocence is only in her smile”
