I am a 17 years old girl, and I listen to black, doom and death, and I dress accordingly. If you want to call me a poser do so, my shoes are big and black, I have an upsidedown pentagram as a neckalce, and a razorblade and Death holding a scythe, and all the shirts I have are black xxl t shirts, and 4 band t shirts whose collars I cut. Of course I always get strange looks from people, and there are the most annoying ones that ask me if I am a freak or a Satanist, but truth is, and you have to admit that this ‘attire’ is just what fits to the music we listen to, you wouldn’t go to a metal concert wearing pink, now would you?
I, for one, do not want to be anything like ‘them’, not the clothes not anything, but I do like to feel that I belong to at least some group, and that is metal.
Bottom line, as you said, the appearance means not that you are as that, you can wear stuff that would make the ‘truest blacker’ blush and be nothing like what you wear, but as it goes this is the music we love, the music that rules in our opinion, the clothes are just a bonus.
I am just as morbid at times, and just as fucked up, I don’t know how comforting it is to you, (to me it is) but all will end one day, one way or another.
In the meantime you can enjoy this fucking amazing music, and you can find people from the scene or not from the scene that are just as great.
Yea, understood Tristenne, I understand the whole wearing pink to metal concert thing. But what I try to do the least is attract attention to myself, so even as seemingly normal as I dress, I draw attention away from myself. I enjoy that, probably more than I should. So by dressing without much style people leave me the fuck alone, then when I wind up doing something morbid, everyone’ll be like “where the fuck did he come from?” Attention=Bad, labels=bad, and life=shit
Actually, the way I dress doesn’t ttract as much attention as you think, the people’s interest dies quickly, sometimes it doesn’t even go beyond glances, other people don’t care at all. That’s the truth, they don’t really give a damn. At least where I live.
life rocks…people fuck it up…. main stream in my city these days is smoking lots of weed and getting pregnant early and offten. Not exactly my cup of tea.
If I keep my head down occasionaly, and try not to kill of all my brain cells by doing dumb shit trying to look cool, then the impossible might become possible:

Im a junior high school Ive gone to my school for three years Ive been a goth for all that time people know how I dress because I always dressed this way yet they cant seem to get it they dont understand that I dont want attention I dont want to be bothered I dont want to be questioned I am who I am I dress and act how I want and if they cant get the hint FUCK’EM.

What I’d like to know is why clothing is such a big deal. It’s only purpose is to cover your body and protect you from the suns damaging rays.
