My First and Only Love

I remember the first day we met. It was a hot, summer afternoon, and you had just recently moved in across the street from me. I was outside, playing on my swing, when you first came up to me and said, “Hi, my names id Julian, what’s yours?” I answered, “Hi, my name is Tifa. You want to play on my swing?” You said yes, and from that moment on, you and me became best friends. We were only six years old then. You and I went to school together, and spent every minute we could with each other. Little by little, I started to feel weird whenever you were near me. I soon realized I had a crush on you. As we grew up, it became love. In junior high, we didn’t have any classes together, so we spent recess with each other, and we kept in touch, by passing notes between classes. You soon started to date, and my heart was crushed. I was a little envious of your girlfriend. I longed to be her. I longed for your arms to be wrapped around my waist. In time, you guys broke up. I was happy, yet sad at the same time. You felt bad, because she had hurt you. I was there, though, to comfort you. High school soon came, and you and I didn’t see each other much in school. So, to make up for that, we spent the afternoons together. Before we knew it, we were soon seniors, and prom night was coming. I wished with all my heart, that you would ask me to the prom. Surprisingly, you did. I was so happy. Prom night was so fantastic. It was like a dream come true. I was with you, and that’s all that mattered that night. After Graduation Day, you and I attended the same college. In college, is where you confessed your love for me. We were walking under the moonlight, hand in hand. We stopped to sit on a bench, and we looked up at the stars. The next thing I know, you are looking into my eyes, and you say, “I love you Tifa. I love you with all my heart.” Tears of joy stream down my face, and I whisper, “I love you, too. I always have.” We embrace, and share a kiss under the sparkling stars. We dated for two years. We were so happy together. On a beautiful night, something so magical happened. You and I were sitting under a big, great oak tree. You were holding me towards you, and said, “Tifa, I love you so much, I love you with all my heart, which is why I want to ask you this. Tifa, will you marry me?” Tears of happiness stream down my face, and I say “Yes.” We hug, and we kiss under the moonlight. You hold me close to you, and I say, “You know, you were my first and only love?” You smile, and we both lean in to share another kiss. “You were my first love too,” you say. I smile, and I lay my head down on your shoulder. I close my eyes, and think about you, me, our future and our never-ending love. I then place my hand on my stomach, and think also of our first child.
