ne1 from NY?

Hey. I’m not from NY im from wv:( but i want to move there after i graduate this summer. but i have no clue how to find a apartment, or how much money ill need to make b/c i want to be an actress. i sing also so if anyone lives there what can you tell me?

are there good kareoke places and auditions and stuff often? is everything besides rent also expensive like food adn gas? how much do taxis cost and subways??? sorry for all the ?’s i just wanna know. i don’t like livin at home, were supposed to be movin to nc when i graduate but i dont want to stay there. are the stereotypes of people all being rude true? b/c the stereotypes of wv such as incest and rednecks are not true at least in my case! also does ne1 know of any good sites i could get a gothic yet attractive, kinda sexy, prom dress at? i haven’t found many i like yet. thanks:)

hi. my name is heather and i don't know what to write here. i hate living in wv, b/c most people are boring rednecks who are extremely predjudice and judgemental. i awnt to be an actress and try to break as many stereotypes as possible. people at my school think im a witch b/c i sometimes wear black lipstick. vaguely amusing.

  1. alright, so I’m figuring you mean New York City. Well…. Cost of housing depends on where you want to live. Some places are really kind of dangerous… But on the cheaper end of the price spectrum. And others are madly expensive (Manhattan and the likes)…. And no, not everyone’s rude. There’s a lot more nice people than there are mean ones, probably. But the few cruel ones might ruin the whole thing for you if you don’t watch out. And you’ll need a LOT of money if you want to be an actress. Because probably you won’t have much luck in the beginning. And if you don’t have money to live on anyway, you’ll end up like everyone in Rent…. With no way to pay the rent in a really crap appartment building. So on. Okay, shutting up about that now.

    And for prom dresses… there’s some awesome goth clothing stores in the UK that have sites. Search around, you’ll find some. I’ll try to remember my favourite and if I remember, I’ll post it. *wave*

  3. http://www.blackrose.co.uk are based in london but they ship to pretty much anywhere. depending on stock, there are some pretty gorgeous dresses there sometimes.
    lookit me … expert in womens clothing.

    ummm the acting thing … i’m not saying it won’t pan out, but have a backup plan yeah? you probably would be better off in l.a. for those purposes but hey if you wanna inflict nyc on yourself then that’s your choice.
    i stayed there about fifty million times, and met one nice person. hmmm … suspicious
    just make sure you get a decent neighbourhood otherwise every time you turn your back you’ll lose all your stuff 🙂

    There’s nice people… A lot of them. But, as I said, you just have to look.

    AND BY THE WAY! Broadway rocks my socks, so go for acting. If you don’t get anything at first, don’t give up.

  6. *Laughs* I aswell don’t have any advice for your questions, but good luck! I’d take up blacklight’s advice though, acting (I’ve heard) is a very tough business, you should definately have a plan B if acting doesn’t work out.
