I walked that night, in the rain, as a blue moon looked at me with eyes of sorrow, I grinned. I couldn’t help it, I was free to walk the street for who I was. I was happy, as I heard the drops fall on my leather hood, the splash my black boots against the water surface, the crying I heard in a womans window.
I had met that woman many times for certain, obvious to mention pleasures. I wondered why she was crying, but didn’t care until I heard that roar…that sneer which held behind it death and guilt. I walked to the window, pulling my body up to see inside, and I saw a very fightful sight. The woman was crying, true, but more like wailing. A grey, black skinned horror hunched over her body, ripping the flesh from her leg. I heard a blast of sound to my left, looking over at her dog, barking up a storm. I turned back to the window, and noticed the woman and the beast were gone, replaced by a trail of blood into the other room.
I walked to the back door, and saw that door had been busted down, the glass pannel broken. I stepped in, the crunch of glass under my boots making my cringe. I saw the lamp on the floor in the living room, and her body. She was dead, her leg ripped from her body. I followed the trail of blood, making my way past the dark doorway of the front passage, up the stairs. The red blood barely visable on the brown carpet. A stench filled the upstairs hallway, as I saw the blood go into the bathroom. I don’t know why I followed the trail any longer, but as I entered, I saw the horror, kneeled in the bath tub, feasting on the leg. It looked like something from a horror movie. It’s flesh was black and dead, it’s ribs shown through the weak flesh, it’s face had eyes, put they were hollowed around them in the sockets, and his nose was replaced with a hole, shaped like a triangle. It’s fingers were nothing more then sharpen bones, and it ripped the flesh from the leg with sharp, grey teeth. I gasped when I saw it, and it looked up, dropping the leg, and hurrying from the tub. I ran, and fell down the stairs. As I stumbled up, it looked down at me from the top of the stairs, it’s eyes gave a look of fear.
I stood still, yet soon I saw a grim look come across his face as a bellowing I can onyl call laughing began to come from this beast. I turned to leave, to run as hard as my legs would carry me, when I saw another one, coming into the room like a cat would. It sniffed the dead corpse, then looked at me, and smiled, or atleast had thought it smiled. I heard the other one stumble down the stairs, and made a run for it. I ran past the other one to the front door, opening it and slamming it. I heard something hit it from inside, and almost cryed I was so scared. I supposed both were now clawing at the door, slamming on it, because I felt the strength of two body builder slamming against it. Then, all at one moment, it stopped. After a few seconds, I opened the door, and saw nothing. Neither one was there. I had to run…now!
I bolted as fast as I could through the rain, when I saw a man at the far end of the street, he was screaming, waving his arms. He had another one of those things on his back. It was eating him alive. He ran past me, and I continued home, opening the door, and slamming it hard, panting. I made sure I locked the doors in the house. My parents had gone away on vacation, so I was alone. I picked up the phone to call the police, yet heard no call tone. The phones were down. I turned on the T.V., hoping the find some trace of it on the news. Many of the channels were down, except for two news channels. One was displaying danger signs, telling people to lock there doors, the other had more information about what was happening.
‘If you have just joined us, then you must know this AT ONCE! Strange beasts have the city in an uproar. It started with the city morgue reporting missing bodies, and the cemetary had been visted by family who didn’t return. I tell you know, we…we…Oh god…we are being attacked by, zombies, or…something…these things, these things are going to kill us…I…ladies and gentlemen, the station has been infiltrated, I…Oh god! Oh god!!’ as I saw the man begin to scream, the camera was knocked to it’s side, as one of these things took the screen, feasting on the body of the camera man, and then the station went to static like the others. I turned back to the other station, and it was down too…These things, whatever they were, were taking the city. These monsters, these zombies…these Ghouls!
