It was a foregone conclusion that if the latest installment in the SCREAM franchise proved successful, both in creative terms and, more importantly, in terms of box office revenue, we’d be getting a sequel. As SCREAM 2022 (which is really SCREAM 5, as every fan who can count knows) delivered in both respects, yes, we knew we’d be getting a sequel. They sure didn’t waste any time getting all the contracts signed, as it has now been announced that SCREAM 6, whatever they end up calling it, will hit theaters on March 31st of 2023!
We don’t know yet how many of the stars of the latest film will be returning, other than Courtney Cox, who has confirmed that she will be involved. I would expect to see all of them back: Neve Campbell, Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega. Probably even David Arquette in a flashback or two. Oh, and Skeet Ulrich. Beyond that, the same directors will be back, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett of Radio Silence, with the third member of Radio Silence, Chad Villella, and original writer Kevin Williamson back as producers. The same writers, too, James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick. This is great news, as we wouldn’t want any new team taking over. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!
