Shield Me

I take this cloth and place it over the sun’s mouth. Its time for it to quiet down.

Shaking in a clandestine state,
Just let all the eyes remain asleep.
We are too deep within that mouth.
Materialism, give us just one more taste.
A false sense of security.
Pull us in, shelter us, and let us forget who we are
For a peaceful moment.

It’s all going down, and I don’t want to feel like this.
Got to cut away and seep through the accepted disturbance,
And see if God is suppose to be there.
Hopefully he’ll remember us.
