Terry came home and went upstairs to his room after a long day at school. He threw his bag on the floor next to a shelf, it wobbled and his magic eight ball fell off and cracked, it started oozing a blue liquid. He walked over and picked up the eight ball, he had forgotten he had it. The glass was floating inside along with a little white block.
Terry took the ball into the bathroom and drained the liquid down the sink, the glass and the block fell out and rested next to the drain. He threw the glass in the trash bag next to the sink and reached in for the block, he picked it up to toss it in the trash also, but he stopped. The block was smooth, it didn’t have the bumps that formed letters on it. He examined each triangle of the block, each was blank. He brought it downstairs to his sister who was sitting on the couch watching TV, she took it and looked it over,
“Did it fall off the shelf?” she asked. Before Terry could reply the block started to move and when Terry looked closer he could see that each of the little triangles had ‘Yes’ written on it. Terrys sister looked at him and handed the block back to him, “It’s bad luck to break a magic eight ball. Your cursed now.”
