Where Fire Once Was

A tale of lost love…

I stare off into darkness and cry.
And as you caress me and pull me close,
I start to pull away, then give in and sigh.

I look at you and see a void.
A hollowed out shell
Of the man I used to know.

Like a ghost you hold me.
Like a forgotten shadow,
I wait diligently.

I remember when love
Was like a warm summer night.
So starry… and bright.

Now I find myself lost
In the icy cold tundra
That is your heart.

When did our love fade?
When did our once bright skies,
Turn to downcast grays?
